I've been reading this thread since it was created, and enjoyed it most of the time even though there were the times where youd have to sift through some nonsense to get the information. Now it seems like that's all this thread is, mostly just nonsense with MAYBE a post or two of something thats worth reading. Everythings just being re-iterated over and over again. What they needed to do was close this thread until release date then re-open it, not the other way around.

Hmmm. That might work this time, but not when your NE2 comes up again and you're waiting for whatever new phone is rumored... IN 2012! :)

As a personal request - Please don't freak out about YOUR order not going through if some people continue to get them earlier. Alternatively, if no one get's them early, please don't post anecdotes of Verizon CSRs telling you they were shipping early and, thus, your order must be lost.

We will all get our phones most likely by the 29th. It's nearly over, let's try not to freak out!

Wow, I totally agree, but we both know how useless your post will be.:eek: People are gonna freak out all next week. lol I'm kinda looking forward to sitting back and watching the pages spin by as people who haven't read most of this thread post redundant BS about how their order is lost in the ether. Your post was a valiant effort though. Maybe we should copy/paste your comment and repost it on every page next week.:D

However, the reason I called 'em so many times--VZW held up my DI order! :eek:

Here's what happened: I went to my local VZW store on 4/16 to talk about changes to my next contract. The helpful store rep said "I can put those changes into the system now and they'll take effect 5/10."

On 4/19, I tried to order the DI. But my account was blocked, saying I already had an order pending. The first CSR thought I'd somehow already ordered the DI. The second one I talked to said I couldn't order until the changes to my contract were completed on 5/10!!!!

I asked the rep to reverse the changes to my account so I could order the DI. He said, "fine, I can do that, then after your order goes through I'll reinstate the changes for 5/10." I was then able to order my DI. :)

Fortunately, when I got the confirmation that said "Your order is awaiting approval or phone availability. Please check back in a few days", I called to see what was up. That's when I found out that my DI order was on hold and couldn't go through because the CSR had reinstated the changes to my contract... and the DI order wouldn't go through until after the changes to my contract were complete on 5/10!

I called and asked yet another rep to completely remove the changes to my account.

Then a few hours later I called to make sure the order was going through. All OK. :)

The next day, a CSR called ME to let me know my order was still pending and I'd get the phone 4/29. :rolleyes:

Today I got 2 emails from VZW: "Order your new phone today!" "Upgrade today!" :confused: So of course, being paranoid, I called to make sure my DI is still coming 4/29 and aliens/Elvis/tin foil hat people haven't sabotaged my order. CSR: "You're good to go." :cool:

Every single VZW rep has been polite and nice to me. I think it helps that I tend to be kind to them (being an RN I've had my share of angry, abusive patients and don't want to inflict that on anyone else). They don't have consistent stories about the whereabouts of the DI, but they do all seem to agree we'll get them 4/29.

She happily completed that order, and asked if she could check the status of my pre-order for me while she was waiting on the finalization of my cover order (INCREDIBLY nice person). Anyway, she said she spoke to the Internet Orders Department, and my order is set and ready to ship the 27th for delivery the 28th! I have typically ahd great experiences with CSRs, so this wasn't too much of a surprise, but thought I'd share. It sounds like HAPPY INCREDIBLE WEEK will be more appropriate...

Welcome! Nice to see another Cavs fan on the forums (and Columbus-er). Sounds like the 28th is shaping up to be a great day. Hopefully my order gets processed in that batch to go out the 27th.

Just got back from a verizon store where I finally got to actually hold the DI and check it out. It was awesome. I actually considered running out of the store with it, but only for a second. It is really thin yet it feel so solid. The reports are right when they say it feels almost sexy.

So umm....should I be worried that when I checked online, it says...

Order Status: Your order is awaiting approval or phone availability. Please check back in a few days.
 
Just to add some balance to the CSR ranting here recently......

Just got off the phone with a terrific CSR. I'm moving my main line to our business plan, but this meant either losing my NE2 if I buy under the new plan or a massive ETF if I buy with the NE2 then move the line to a new plan, right? We can fix that, she says. Buy with your NE2, then we'll move you over. No ETF applies if your line and phone stay within the VZW system. Great news there, for starters!

It gets better. She was completely geeked about the Inc. She said the Inc training was a hot ticket, and they all luuuuved the phone. Lots of buzz in the CSR ranks, and all positive.

Just one data point, but she was fully up to speed on the Inc, extremely helpful about how to keep the NE2 and make the line transfer free of charge, and even suggested I order it online rather than through her to get the extra $100 discount. Great stuff!
