I've decided to try leaving a note like this tomorrow:

"Please accept this as my delivery signature for a package from company XXX to me, XXX, on 8/12/08." signature

Anyone ever done this for indirect signatures? Has it worked?

Edit: SHould have no problem getting here by tomorrow. It's shipping from WEST CHESTER, PA, which is less than 3 hrs from me.
Sorry, I don't know if anyone has posted this but I have done this before and it works. I received a computer with this type of letter before. I also put some verbage that I will not hold shipper liable for any damages or theft. something like that. Good luck!

So I got a phone call yesterday from the Mobile dept in the Best Buy that I work in informing me that the truck has been delayed and it will not be there until tonight after 6pm. luckily I work until 9:30 so hopefully they will let me buy after the store closes at 9. DINC is in sight and almost in hand. This day is going to drag!!!!!! Oh and to make it worse, I just accepted a new position relocating my family to VA so that is more to make the day drag on. Thanks to all who have made this wait (originally for the N1) tolerable. This phone is going to be Incredible.
 
Wow... just got off a 2 minute call with the verizon store that is 5 minutes down the road from my work. Called to see if they had stock and he immediately got my name and Verizon #, and said he would hold one for me for after work at 5:30. Unbelievable (minus the fact that I am going to have to pay retail but oh well it should prove MORE than worth it!) :cool:
 
Battery life is an issue. What now?

I had the Eris prior to this phone's release, and the battery life on it was miserable (on Android 1.5). I installed the leak v1 and then v2 and the battery life improved DRAMATICALLY... not sure if it had something to do with coming straight from HTC without being run through VZWs hoops or not, but I assume that if / when this thing is rooted there will be a general GREAT improvement on battery life. If you are like me and work next to a computer all day battery life is not an issue if there is a spare usb cable lying around.
 
I'm gonna need a whole lotta coffee after all the sleep I lost last night, playing with my Incredible.

It really is an awesome phone. Even after watching all those video reviews, I'm still finding stuff I didn't know this phone could do.
 
I got my phone yesterday and I LOVE it minus 2 things.

1. A small piece of dust inside the camera. Called VZW and there sending me a new one.
2. Loaded all my pictures and when scrolling through them all its choppy, not fluid at all. Kind of a let down there.

Other than those two things, this phone rocks my socks!
 
Just got home from local store. Had been talking to asst manager and he saw me out in parking lot this morning at 730 and brought me out a ticket for a reserved phone and let me in at 800 when preorders only were supposed to be allowed. Thing is sweet. Its 10x harder letting it charge for the next few hours then it was waiting the 4 months for it to get here. Its been a pleasure thus far shooting the .... with you guys and i look forward to many more months. Lets go root!!
 
So here is my problem. With the red/black gradient hard case on, it seems that it creates pressure at the top of the phone back where the power button is and the power button seems to get stuck every now and then. It will get stuck halfway down then pop back up eventually.

Anyone else having this problem?
 
Just tried and she told me that this is only for new lines of service such as adding a line or a new customer. Not existing lines. Moving from non-data to a data plan doesn't help either... :( nice try though.

I just saw this today (catching up after being out of town for a wedding until Tuesday). I called 866-338-7390 and was able to get the $30 credit. (My phone hasn't even arrived yet, but is at the local facility an hour from me.) So, with the online discount and NE2 $100 credit, that brings the cost to $69.99 plus tax. Woohoo!!!

I think just like getting the NE2 upgrade moved up, it just depends on the CSR you talk to. If it doesn't work, try again later. I was really nice and made sure I used his name to make it more personal.

I purchased the red/black gradient case last night and should be receiving my phone within a few hours. I will post back with my results.
 
ok so i got my phone..i am having trouble activating it..not sure why...also this is my first smart phone, so bear with the silly questions please...my wifi is low because of the connection..i use DSL in my apt, so the only connections it can get at my house is someone's wifi, which is a poor connection. Is there a way around this? ( sorry if this is a dumb question). Also, I thought it would come with a detailed manual, but i only got this one that says tips, hints and shortcuts...any ideas?
I had trouble with activation too, data specifically. The Verizon phone rep just had me call the activation number again. The first time, he had me choose option 1. The second time, option 2. After that, the phone worked fine.

There's a detailed manual on Verizon's website. Just go to the support tab, choose "Phones & Devices," pick the Incredible, and you'll see the link. I saved it to my desktop as a pdf.
 
so it seems some bad news for myself. I ordered the phone on Sunday and it I got the tracking number for it on Monday but it sat in Memphis until yesterday evening. Now its in Greensboro, NC which is still about 3 hours by car from here. Usually it will go overnight to Wilmington then to my house, but as of 8:42am its still sitting in Greensboro's sort facility so I'm thinking I wont get to see this phone until Saturday(I'm out of town tomorrow).

Would Verizon issue a credit for not keeping their word should it not show up today?

Did they guarantee that it would arrive no later than today? If you have that in writing - then they may refund part of the shipping cost that you paid.
