I been thinking all along that any significant upgrade over the Droid wasn't going to happen for a while, it's no surprise to me that the Incredible didn't get announced. Droid had a killer advertising budget there's no way Verizon would bring in a better phone too soon. We should be feeling good though.
1. Incredible has the verizon logo on boot up.
2. Verizon did announce at MWA, BOGO on Droid and other phones.
This is a key indicator to me that they are now going to push their inventory through of Droid phones to make room for a phone that can top the Droid on the Verizon network. This is the 1st step in bringing in the next hot Verizon phone. The questions are, when and what?
I'm going to guess it's the Incredible because Verizon wants to sell phones in stores directly to the consumer. Sure the N1 may come but Verizon can't control it and there's no reason to think that Google's online distribution strategy is going to change how consumers want to buy phones. Either way, I think we are back Mar/Apr with either the N1, Incredible, or both coming our way.
Incidentally, I may actually buy a couple Droids because Wirefly has them for $100 each with no activation fees. Not a bad savings, I imaging waiting around for the Incredible or N1, the price for 2 phones will be in the $4-500 range. After all, the Droid is a pretty good phone, how much better can these other ones really be to cost 150% more, at that point the differences may not be worth it for some...certainly not all...but some (myself included).
