So what's everyone's confidence level in an Incredible Announcement next week? I think we may have a good shot at it. At least I'm hoping!

One of these weeks has to be right, so we might as well keep hoping! :D

..and Dodger, you're in SE NH? I grew up in Nashua, I assume you're close?
In East Kingston, which is not far from Seabrook, which is not far from Newburyport, MA (which is where I work)

Nashua to Kansas, huh?

That's pretty much equivalent to my culture shock of Los Angeles to East Kingston!

Ok emulators sounds like it....I guess it wasn't an "A" word lol, thanks man.

You can use the touch screen for the controls. It is a big bummer that it doesnt have a touch pad like my touch or the galaxy though. Most emulated games I play have 2 buttons they normally use + directionals.

Speaking of which could we play gameboid on our incredibles full screen with controls like this?

From every video I've seen, people have had smaller games with controls pictured on the screen around it. i'd rather have invisible boxes like that any day for gameboy.

Had a nice dinner with Mrs. Steven58 @ Macaroni Grill. I ate too much but had fun. I tried to stay away from the subject of the Incredible. I failed. To her credit, she acted interested... her eyes glazed over, however. (women) (steven shake his head.) :p

at least she tries... my wife rips on me everytime i'm on here....

For those that have experience with the Droid and/or Eris, how do you expect the Incredible to compare in terms of speed? I've only used the Droid and Eris in Verizon stores but I was disappointed with how sluggish the Eris was (maybe it had too many apps running). The Droid seemed much faster to me.

Sorry, but i can't have sympathy for anyone that plays the "I'll get a phone now knowing that I'll use Verizons return policy, just to have a new toy for 30 days"

Yes, that's their policy, but never intended to be used as a 30 day phone rental

I can. Simply because most of the people that bought phones on the BOGO have no clue about what is coming... and many of them will probably be suffering buyers remorse when these phones hit the market. Verizon is not stupid and they are probably trying to reduce stock before they release the new phones. Not everyone will want them but I would be willing to bet anyone that is paying $30 for a data plan will. How thrilled will all those people that just bought the palm be when they see the new phones? Anyone at Verizon who makes the decisions KNOWS what is coming and it is a somewhat smart decision from a sales standpoint not to announce the new phones... how would they sell anything? But... they are upsetting long time customers with their lack of information. They are well aware of their own policy on the 30 day return and I seriously doubt they are losing any money on it.. or they would not be doing it. I personally think they are/have held up the release so that many who took advantage of the fire sale will be stuck and not be able to return them for the better phones that are headed our way. I am willing to bet that there will be some VERY unhappy customers when they do come out..... especially the ones who asked....any new phones? and they came back with not that I am aware of. I can understand going out and getting a phone because your own is on its last days/hours... and planning to return it because what they have available now is crap. If they had better phones to offer then people would probably not even think anything of it.

I'm feeling good about an announcement in the next two weeks. I've said from the beginning that I can see VZW waiting until two days before release to announce.

BTW, Montana Man, I see you watching;). Glad to see you're hanging around, even if you're not posting.:)

any phone with the snapdragon processor is going to be miles faster.

Those each have a processor that's about 500mhz (droid is 550, eris i think is 500). The 1ghz in this will be much faster.

Also, actually the eris was faster in some cases in a speed test online because it has a smaller resolution screen. Might be the eris had more programs running in the background that people put on it.

if I remember correctly the BOGO for the storm 1 ended just before they released Storm2 but I don't think there was 30 days in between- I think they count on a certain number of people will return but most will just stick with what they got and not bother.

I can. Simply because most of the people that bought phones on the BOGO have no clue about what is coming... and many of them will probably be suffering buyers remorse when these phones hit the market.

But there's a difference between knowingly using the policy to get a phone now because they're impatient, and from those suffering buyers remorse.

Those who abuse the system are the ones who make companies change policies.

Not necessarily.....those that want just the basic smartphone features won't mind the Pre, plus free Mobile Wifi hot spot is a huge advantage. I could see many people wanting the Pre just for this reason, and I can't say I'd blame them if they don't want a lot of specialized apps, but want a go anywhere email machine with some good social networking thrown in.

A lot of people other then this forum's demographic also like the BOGO deal over the extra specs. We are all spec heavy, but the DROID is a quality phone, and it's good enough for a lot of people who would like to save the extra $200 or whatever it would cost to get 2 Incredibles.

Edit: think about this you could get 2 Pre+'s for $50 or at the cheapest (probably) get 2 Incredible's for $400. This upfront cost turns a lot of 'average' customers off.

I agree - that free wifi is NICE
