Does VZW usually make a phone end of life after less than 4 months and it being very popular? seems strange to me.

That wouldn't be four months. It would be six. I am assuming that eol does not mean that they won't be selling it for a few more months. I assume it means that they are not buying more of the item anymore for future sale. Someone correct me?

I have been following this for a while and i talked to a VZ instore rep and he had not heard anything new coming beside the motorola devour. He is the one instore who gets the email on new products before the rest of the store and will let me know when he hears of any new phones. He also didn't know whether the nexus one would be instore or not or a general release date. So pretty much what everyone else has heard.

IF they end of life the Eris it would most likely be due to the fact that there will not be a heck of alot of difference between the Eris and Incredible. Outside of form factor there would be nothing different in the eye of Joe Average consumer. Especially since both at some point soon (hopefully) will be running Android 2.1. Unless they name the Incredible the Eris plus there would be no real reason to sell both.
Look at the Devour and Droid. Same physical setup. But the Devour is Android 1.6 compared to 2.0 for the Droid (and soon 2.1). The devour has Blur, the Droid runs stock.

I don't know if I would call the HD2 "shinier". Well I take that back, I did see the mythbusters where they took poop balls and shined them up nice so I guess the HD2 might be shiny. But winmo 6.5 and possibly no way to winmo 7? Suckers.

I was more so referring to the handset over the OS. This will be the first 4.3" device in the US if I'm not mistaken.

And yes, you can polish a turd...perhaps this is HTC and T-Mobiles metaphorical interpretation of said action.

what is the more powerful spec on the N1, the only thing i think of is RAM but we have already said the incredible will most likely launch with the same ram as the N1

I'm still wondering if confusion exists because while it will not be sold in Verizon stores, it might be sold online by Verizon or you start the order process through Verizon's website. So technically Verizon would still sell the N1, just not in stores.
It would be great news I think if you went through the Verizon website because then it would not matter what plan you are on, you could buy it and get NE2 credit as well.
MAYBE Google cannot handle the subscriber records the Verizon and Vodafone would be dumping into their system (this was the only thing holding up Vodafone from getting their N1 supposedly) and so you must go through Vodafone or Verizon first.

this would be great, but it's unlikely.

What's the source for this info please?

Don't you know how this game works yet? We post specs, and we check back tomorrow on boygeniusreport/androidcentral/phandroid/engadget for our source story. We just need to give it the 24 hr marinade for all the other sites to come here and report rumor as fact.

Ah, silly me! You'd think I would have learned that by now!
