The dairy Queen in Bernardsville!!!

wasnt the sarab singh guy for bernardsville? and why the hell do i remember that?

The beginning of April is A-OK! with me. That is just like 2 weeks from now, All the news points to end of march beginning of April.

So many tweets about it, I think right now the people that are high up there are testing the phones and this is why we are getting small leaks, next week will probably be announced in CTIA and the next person down the stairs will get to test the phone out like reps from online and more leaks will come. Next week we should know all we want.

Lets just wait patiently and enjoy the feeling knowing that trough hard work we all know that it will be released soon, and will be incredibly ready for it. :)

Maybe they are one in the same? Dun, dun, duunnnn.
Or I used bernardsville because its the city listed in the weather widget on the incredible shown in the pocketnow leak.

I went into our local VZW store this morning and spoke with the regional manager - he answered a lot of my questions. To sum this up, the N1 will be an online order only, and the HTC Incredible will be the in-store seller. He hinted to me that both would be released at/around the same time. He told me the release date was NOT the 23 or 24th for either device, but to look into early April (possible the 1st or 2nd from what I've seen other places). I forgot to ask him if the N1 would be subsidized or not, but he told me he has personally used both devices and would highly recommend the HTC Incredible over the Google Nexus One.

I did not ask about any specific specs. He also did not call i the Incredible, he just called it the "HTC device", I'm really curious to if they keep the name or not.

He also informed me of a few other things... apparently the Incredible will be the first Android phone to offer App installation to the storage card! (this was news to me, don't know if anyone else has heard that or not). He then proceeded to tell me about a WM7 he was able to try out (and was an HTC device with similar specs to the Imagio! Instead of the LG device seen online usually) and said that he loved it.

This if a bit off topic, but figure I'd throw this tid-bit in as well - he also told me about a new BlackBerry device coming out soon (if you've seen the leaked image, it is the supposed slider-style BB). And get this - it's a Google/BlackBerry joint venture! It runs a hybrid of BB OS and Android! He told me he was very excited for it and that it was the best of both worlds. He also said that this device has the best accelerometer out at this time.
Hmm... I'm sure you're sincere, but it sure seems like the VZW manager knew he had a live one. I'm not buying ANY of that except the first paragraph.

oh well it was worth a shot. it does seem that everything seems to be lining up in a hurry with a 2 weeks or less scenario.

Okay, gang. Here's a conversation I'm having today with a friend of mine on Facebook regarding the HTC Incredible and what she knows of it from her contact at a local Verizon store.

ME:
For those that aren't familiar with the Android O.S. or HTC Sense, here's a great video of HTC Desire that will be available in Europe next month, but is running the same O.S. as the Droid Incredible which will be available through Verizon in approx. two weeks. The Incredible will have the same 3.7" AMOLED WVGA screen ...as the gorgeous Desire, but will have an 8 mp camera with a dual flash in addition to an FM tuner. The FriendStream application is really cool, as it incorporates Facebook, Twitter and Flickr all under one roof. With a 1ghz Snapdragon processor behind it and up to 600 RAM the Incredible is a "gotta have" device.

Her Comment:
I dunno...I just talked to my Verizon guy..and he said it's not really "All that!" Recommended staying with the Eris.

My Reply:
Huh!? Most store sales people don't even know the device is coming yet. Believe me when I tell you this, as I am involved on a message board where this phone is discussed ad nauseam. I know more about this device than they do, as I've been reading up on and waiting for it to be released since early last November. LOL!

BTW, I suspect your sales person didn't tell you that the Eris is being discontinued either, which is why they are terminating the Droid BOGO deal at the end of the month. Essentially they are clearing out all of their Eris stock to make room for the Incredible. How long ago did you buy your phone? I'm willing to bet he said that so you don't return it, which you can at no cost to you within a 30 day period. Is yours 30 days old yet?

BTW, the Eris is a good handset. Underpowered, but decent. It's a good chick phone! ;-)

Her Reply:
LOL...chick phone... Actually...I have a touch diamond and am ready to upgrade...I talked to him just today and he has already seen and touched the new phone...

My Reply:
Thanks! Everyone I'm aware of that's tested the phone on behalf of Verizon/HTC has RAVED about it, yet when folks on the forum I frequent talk to in-store sales reps or VZW customer service reps on the phone, no one seems to have a clue about it, nor does it show up in their system yet, so we're told. And we have people bugging store employees and CSR reps everyday (I know. Sad, isn't it?).

So I question whether your contact has in fact seen the Incredible or is confusing it perhaps with the Nexus One, which is also supposed to be supported on Verizon's network, but not sold through the stores. The other new Droid phone they're getting is the Motorola Devour, which is supposed to be a poor man's version of the Moto Droid. So I'm wondering if he's possibly confusing that with the HTC device?

If he's legit, let me know if he can confirm or deny the the late March/early April release date for the HTC Incredible.

Its my 24th day on my Droid Eris. Returning it to VZW! Switchin to an old Samsung flippy phone with no camera. I got a taste of the Sense UI already. Can't wait for HTC Incredible!

Hmm... I'm sure you're sincere, but it sure seems like the VZW manager knew he had a live one. I'm not buying ANY of that except the first paragraph.

Hey, it's possible. I was pretty drawn back by the BB comment he made as well, but the rest of it could very well be possible. I don't care either way as long as the release date is close to correct because I can upgrade anytime I'm ready at this point - and I'm ready! I'll be getting this phone regardless of what happens more than likely.

ENGAGET:

We were hearing that the Motorola Droid would be blessed with Android 2.1 update from Verizon Wireless in slow numbers starting today, but that release date has been pushed back to "TBD"--which looks like indefinite at this point. Whether the OTA update has anything to do with the rumors of the HTC Incredible launching in two weeks on the carrier's network and Verizon Wireless is afraid that an Android 2.1 Droid would cannibalize sales of the HTC handset is unknown, but we're hoping it's just Verizon Wireless being themselves and want to make sure that the upgrade goes without any glitches.

All these vague confirmations are killing me. But does seem unlikely that the phone will be available before CTIA. The phone is going to change the game. VZW wants a large stage to say "In your face" BOOM!:D

"reccomends staying with the eris" discredits that person immeditally...

No it doesn't. What if the customer in question only really uses their phone for phone calls and maybe uses an app once or twice a week? Does someone like that really going to need the Incredible? The only difference that someone like that will notice is maybe the speed and the screen size.

That most likely would be the Saygus Vphone.
Indeed. A phone that, as far as I can tell, no one cares about. :p
htc made device
5. Android Video Phone This one's a wildcard, but I've been hearing something about an Android-based smartphone with actual, for real, full-frame video chat capabilities. Yes, I mean a phone on a US carrier. I can't say much, but the device may be launching at CTIA and available later this Summer. Or it might be pushed back for a late Spring/early Summer debut. We'll see.

Take it for what it is yet again:

my boss just told me Sprint delayed his 2.1 update today that was scheduled for release at the end of this month until the HTC/Apple suit is cleared up.

I'm seriously Anti-Apple

Maybe this why Verizon delayed 2.1 on the same day.
