Android isn't Apple's Iphone OS, nor does it want to be. Its much more powerful, you can do much more with it. Take the time to learn it, and you'll see ;). That said, its much more intuitive than you think, especially with SenseUI running on top of it.

I was really being somewhat rhetorical. I already have an Android phone, I develop apps for it and the iPhone and spend time thinking about usability. iPhone OS is just as powerful. Apple consciously makes a decision to remove options to make it easier to use. Sometimes options are just the developer admitting they can't decide how it should work, so they ask the user. Its not always a good thing.

Who was our insider that provided the screenshot of the verizon inventory system showing units 'on order' at was last updated on 3/29? Can that person provide an update of the verizon inventory numbers?

I wonder what the deal is with tethering? If you use this tethering do you have to sign up for some tethering plan with Verizon? If you don't use the built in tethering can you tether without an extra plan?
They say that tethering needs the HTC sync program, but that program is only available for Windows  Companies should realize that many consumers have Macs.

Try this --> android-wired-tether - Project Hosting on Google Code

There are SOOO many ways to tether these Android phones, there are APPS and rooting, etc. Google it and you will find a way. Just be careful b/c if Verizon find you using it too much = not good from what I've read.

I never thought that I'd be glad to have a headache. I called in to work this morning and then I pop on here to see if there is any good news and PRESTO!!! Long time lurker, just want to say thanks to everybody on the forum for making this wait bearable!!!

i'm not sure. It has 512MB ROM + 8GB moviNand I think they called it. not sure why they would call it movinand + SD card.

So it would see 3 drives - the 512megs, the 8gigs, and the sd card. you won't see one large combined drive on your phone.

Here's my thought - you could use the 512megs for apps, 8gigs for movies, and the sd card for whatever.

Anyone help me with this? Am I right that it has 8 + whatever microSD I put in?

Probably the first time I've ever read a User Guide for anything I've ever purchased. Skimming through it, I'm really excited now to get this phone! Hopefully we'll hear of a presale date or some sort of official announcement today. :D

I have been lurking on this forum for about 2 months. Today, I finally signed up so I could get this manual. Can't wait for this phone! It will definitely be my next ;)

I'm sick of BB and can't wait to make the jump to Android. It seems that the Incredible is the right phone for me to make the jump! Nice to meet you all

edit: btw the manual downloaded in about 2 seconds and it works great! Time to reaaadd :D

This is my first time on a forum; I am such a newbie... Anyway, I started looking into purchasing an N1 from Google and found this forum and it has been like a rollercoaster ride. I would like to give a BIG THANKS to everyone that has provided information and BIG THANKS to those that have provided the comic relief on the slow days (without you it would not be the same).
I am supper excited about this phone and sharing that experience with everyone on this forum.

You are my new Incredible Family...

Thanks much for the manual! It looks like 512/586 for memory. Isn't that different than the 6 GB people were expecting?

On an off note, I discovered something very cool using 2.1 on my eris today. If I am using the NAV app, and I stream blue tooth audio to my sync system, the audio is played through my stereo like an in dash nav. Very sweet!

I think my XV6800 has realized that the end of life is near

My 6900 bit it last night. My sleep button stopped working. I'm currently borrowing a dumb phone from a friend of mine. However my boss isn't to happy about it since I can't check my email constantly.... I'm ok with it for a couple weeks

I made a size comparison between the iPhone and HTC incredible. I like what I see.

28183-Apple-iPhone-vs-HTC-Incredible
The incredible is actually thinner than the iPhone 3g - 12.3mm. This is a comparison to to the original iPhone.:D

The USB connector is on the right side! What am I to do about a desktop cradle!!!

Agreed. How are folks going to provide 3rd party accessories for these phones if they keep moving around the connector? Need a desktop and phone cradle that can be used for power and audio. Ideally video too.

Does Verizon seriously charge extra for visual voicemail?

Yes they do, but there are TONS of ways around that. I have it for free on my Dare. Have had it for a while now.

On a side note, hope you have requested your Google Voice One Number, it won't be an issue anymore when you have that.
