QUESTION:
Never owned an android phone, but with internet capabilities I see no need to pay extra for texting/attachments.
If someone texts or sends an attachment, am I going to be charged for it?
Or do I somehow have to 'accept' it before being charged?
i'm not sure. It has 512MB ROM + 8GB moviNand I think they called it. not sure why they would call it movinand + SD card.
So it would see 3 drives - the 512megs, the 8gigs, and the sd card. you won't see one large combined drive on your phone.
Here's my thought - you could use the 512megs for apps, 8gigs for movies, and the sd card for whatever.
If anyone didn't read into the manual and was curious:
For some applications, like Photos or the web browser, you can “pinch” the screen using 2 fingers (for example, thumb and index fingers) to zoom in or zoom out when viewing a picture or a web page.
Agreed. How are folks going to provide 3rd party accessories for these phones if they keep moving around the connector? Need a desktop and phone cradle that can be used for power and audio. Ideally video too.

this has wet my appetite..
If the Eris comes with a MicroSD then it's guaranteed that this will come with one and I'm betting it's a 16GB card.
I'm sorry but if you need more than 512Mb for applications then you need to go out and buy a PSP. I've barely used 1/4th of the space on my Moto Droid for application and I've got everything I could ever want/need.512MB ROM for apps?! That would reek. One of the biggest issues with Android today is that apps are restricted to the built in ROM. 512MB is too small for a serious smartphone. Heck, there are some iPhone apps that by themselves larger than that. As an example, Myst is 700MB.
I "think" that this restriction is really about Android market so that there isn't an easy way to copy apps to someone else's phone.
It can also be worked around if you root and rearrange the file system, but its a huge hassle.
I seriously doubt it when it comes with 8gb built-in.
unless u have a txt plan, u will be charged for incoming SMS and MMS.
Long time lurker, first post. Thanks for all the hard work getting info for this phone. With the usb port on the side, do you think there will be a multimedia docking station for the Incredible, like the one for the Moto Droid?
Navigator gives you quick and convenient access to the phone, voice search, and navigation apps such as Footprints and Google Maps when the phone is mounted on the car kit. (The car kit with in-car holder for your phone is purchased separately.)
Not too thrilled about the Verizon logo on the front...

A very little bit goo gone will most likely get rid of it if it's printed ontop of the plastic.
IF you use it, you do so at your own risk and do so very very carefully though as it WILL eat thru the rest of the plastic
there's also a tutorial that i saw somewhere (edit: found the link. How to remove Logos from your PDA / cell phone with sugar) that shows you how to use some sugar and scotch tape to get the logo off.. basically, the sugar is abrasive enough to strip the paint off, but not abrasive enough to scratch the screen..A very little bit goo gone will most likely get rid of it if it's printed ontop of the plastic.

The USB connector is on the right side! What am I to do about a desktop cradle!!!
If all you want is a phone, then 512MB is fine. Or get a cheap free phone.I'm sorry but if you need more than 512Mb for applications then you need to go out and buy a PSP. I've barely used 1/4th of the space on my Moto Droid for application and I've got everything I could ever want/need.
