OK I have been trying to catch up on all the fun today so if I missed this let me know. I read the manual and when they were talking about the SD card slot on page 17 it says
"Store your pictures, music, and applications in the microSD card (sold separately)." So does this mean you can load apps to your SD? Maybe explains the low ROM?

I was wondering if it was going to come with a microSD card or not. After our fearless leader stated earlier that there are several incorrect items in the User Guide, I double checked several other HTC phone User Guides and all that came with cards say so in the "What's In The Box" section - out to the side it states it is "pre-installed". I hope that this is another point that is currently incorrect and a card will be included. Granted you can get one for $40-$50, but I would rather use that for other accessories... Or even to feed me my children :D

I respectfully think there are some information errors being posted, due to the spec sheet and the manual posted. I joked earlier, but interns seem to really be putting the information together and nobody is supervising / reviewing the content (usually the product manager's job in marketing). Then again, the device has not been officially released, so perhaps the info is not ready to be published.

1. Very doubtful 8gb is built-in. Why would HTC make two main circuit board designs for the Desire and Incredible? HTC would not be so cost-dumb for production. 8gb is probably a micro sd card.

2. The ram is 512mb or 576mb. Why add 64mb, unless Desire will also see an engineering rev change?

3. Flash Lite probably is on the device and 4.0 makes sense :)

Please note that both the "i" source has errors and repetition and the manual has errors too. Neither source can be considered a "trusted" source for information as a result.

Let's hope the quality of the device is better than the current reference materials ;)

That is accurate based on the device dump performed by Stericson, an Android Developer that contributes to the forum.

Edit: More Info from Stericson

http://twitpic.com/1881kx - Format Phone storage? Come on guys this is internal memory.

He's referencing the "Format Phone Storage" at the bottom of the screenshot he took from a test device. Notice that there is the option to format the SD Card as well. Hope that helps.

So it is a possibilty that we can save apps to the SD? Correct me if I am wrong but this would be the first phone capable of that.

Is anyone scared of the fact that the power button is on the left? Nexus One reviewers said it was an awkward reach. Optical trackpad to wake device?

I'm coming from the BB 8330 and its lock button is on the top left too. When i was using the droid, the top right power button was awkward. Thankfully the incredible is on the left which feels more natural when you hold your phone with your right hand

Wondering why the term "superphone" hasnt caught on. Prior to the N1 release I remember reading how it and the Incredible can really no longer be classified as a smart phone, but rather the word superphone would be used in the industry to describe this newest generation of SEXY POWER!!!

I want the word to catch on, so I can feel superior to my friends with crappy ol' smartphones, lol.;)

Where are you guys at? I am in Phoenix.

Kentucky- home of sucky Tmo coverage. Bailing to Verizon at the end of the month. Torn between clocking a Droid to 800mhz and have a real keyboard or get the Incredible.

Choice on carrier is easy though- 2G coverage for 95% of the area (Tmo) or 3G for the same area (Verizon).

BTW, the confusion about the 8gb may be that it is pre-installed in the microsd slot- hence, "not in the box".

Update: BLD, I think your suggestion makes sense in regards to chip die verses memory module and the 64mb.

1. Because Verizon told them that is what they'd pay for. And it's not that difficult to be the same boards. They could have a spot on the Desire and just not soldered a chip onto it. Just open up an of your electronics around the house and you will find plenty of unused spaces on the boards that look like something is missing.

2. You already got my post and added the edit.

3. Flash Lite 4.0 is probably be defacto since the full Flash 10.1 isn't ready yet.

Does anybody know if you get the tethering plan do you still have to buy an app which most are 30-50 dollars, it's seems that would be pretty "homosexual"

Ya'll are missing the point...calling something "gay" or "homosexual" in this context is offensive to gays, regardless which word you choose. The words are offensive when equated to something inferior, or bad, or ugly, or ineffective, or stupid, etc.

If something stinks, it stinks. Its not "gay" or "homosexual."

Yea I really think its best if it was on the right side. Im very happy to see the volume rocker on the left side. Most people hold their phone with their left hands so I can understand the volume rocker but I dont get why they put the power on the right. Very uncomfurtable

Not long to find out :) I think it is pre-installed in the microsd slot like the Droid's was. Explains several conflicting issues.

Do you think VZ intentionally put up the U G intp place where it could found in order to make it go viral on purpose, hope to steal Apple's thunder, which they did?

I agree, but it's a little late to try and inject political correctness into this forum! LOL

I actually forgot about Apple's crapference until I saw some stuff posted here, and didn't even read about it till 5 minutes ago. Viva Incredible.

I was thinking the same. Especially after the rocket ad that seemed geared towards this forum.
