Google Voice has certain numbers for certain area codes. choose your area code the the prefix or area that you want your number for.

I think the FedEx door tag is what they leave when they attempt to deliver a package that requires a signature and no one is home, including attempting to drop off package with a neighbor. It allows you to track and reschedule delivery. Here's the door tag info at FedEx's site (sorry if this is a repost)

I have no order info to post as I have not ordered a phone. I have to wait until the phone is released to see if VZ will allow me to get it via an Annual Upgrade. I will get this phone eventually though, and when I do, I'm going to name it...."BACON!"

It seems to me that a few of you from the "early days" of this forum worked for VZW. If you are still here...do you know if the hours will be the same on launch day at our local stores or do they anticipate HERDS of us gathering at the front door and plan on opening earlier? Thanks!

Completely false! I've visited now 3 local VZW stores and all of them had the Incredible behind the counter to play with, if you asked. All 3 tho had the rep kinda stand there with you or close by, I guess so you don't make a mad dash outta the store.. LOL.. Luckily at one of the stores, the rep got called to help someone so I was by myself for almost 5mins with it.. Ahhh, <drool>.. haha...
It looks like it just depends on the store manager/employee's. ALL of the VZW stores have them in stock now, just different quantities. So, it's complete BS that they say they can't bring it out or else they will get fired. Pa-leeze... morons

Yes. When you sign up it asks you to pick an area code and then you can do pick a number.
EDIT: Not ANY number. But any number they have available. They don't assign you a number.

Well like i have a separate google voice number but i also have it set up to use google voice as voicemail for my verizon number.

I was told by the Asst. Mgr. of my local VZW store, who is also psyched about the Inc. coming out, to call the Monday before launch (tomorrow), and they should know by then if they'll have early opening times on the 29th.

Me too! It changed from initiated to being in Philly pretty quick! I mean if it is already there, how long is will it really take to get to me? I live and work (where it is being delivered) like twenty minutes away from Philly.
Pick the google voice number option. There is a setting to autoforward your vz number to google voice. You will then get your voicemails in Google Voice. If you have friends and family, add your google voice number to that. Then you won't be charged for picking up your voicemails.

Go ahead and get a number you like, It will be a great asset to you. Put in your zip and then hit search if you want to see them all. If you want a particular string like HarleyD, etc. you can search for that too.
I chose one for me that ends in 1213 and 1415 for my wife...

You don't need a doortag from Fed-Ex all you need to do is write a note telling them that you want them to leave the package without a signature, per Fed-Ex CSA. Just sign it and tell them to leave it and they will.

This seems like something new based on the sporadic attention I've given this board. Had a little bit of buyer's remorse so I tracked down a VZW store that had the DI and played with it for 15 minutes... loved it yada yada good choice, etc.
But here's the kicker. The rep (and we know they can be wrong) stated that it came with 8GB internal memory AND an 8 GB MicroSD card. I asked him twice if he was sure and he said yes. I'm not going to be here on release day so it doesn't help me if it is a local deal, but has anyone else heard this (I know there are rumors of a 2GB MicroSD via web orders)?
This store was in Southern Oregon.

Yep. Done this twice on FedEx delivered VZW phones. I leave a box with a signed note giving permission to leave it on the porch. Got one out there now for the DI.
I ordered mine around 8, 830 the morning of the 20th. I just checked my status and it says the whole "order wil be shipped in 2/3 days". BTW I used the free over night code also. We'll see if I get mine early because of that. I ordered my wife one on the 24th, just checked her status and it's still be processed.
Like you all I am patiently awaiting the arrival of my Incredible, which I received shpping info on today.
