Pretty cool that we will be getting gingerbread, and soon.

Follow along with the video below to see how to install our site as a web app on your home screen.
Note: This feature may not be available in some browsers.

I have a question. Does anyone know what will happen to all our settings and such when this OTA happens? Like, all my icons I have on the homescreens and the order they are in. Will we have to let all our apps reinstall? Is it basically like changing to a new ROM?
I got mine a couple weeks ago. Not sure if it was OTA of Wifi, cause I have it on wifi at home. ATT's signal being what it is. I was pleased to find it appear so quickly. Wish I had some tip on how it happened. I can confirm it exists. I did also go to the amazon app store and put in my number, but the link in the text message never did work. Maybe thats how it gets triggered? If you haven't tried that, maybe that is the secret? Good luck!I bought an Inspire 4G on July 4th. It has 2.2.1 and does NOT have the 3rd party software capability. I've chatted with ATT tech support multiply times. They say theyve tried pushing to me multiple times and i still don't have the update. I don't know what the problem is..... Spoke with an ATT mobile rep that helped me with the crossupgrade when i bought the phone and he is going to try to get to the bottom of the issue. He thinks they say they are pushing me the update but in reality the are just trying to get me off the chat.....
AT&T will start rolling out HTC Inspire 4G gingerbread update this thursday, Aug 4, over the air. Must connect to wifi (105mb)
So, anyone with experience with an HTC OS update? How are we going to get it? Do we need to keep clicking the at&t software update or htc wifi software update? Or does it come another way?
Does anyone know if the 2.3 update will effect my Netflix app that the inspire is not supposed to have?
Someone said today for this update, I havent got anything yet, anyone?
I tried checking and now I get a server error. Before that i got phone up to date.
you can download it manually from the HTC website its self , good luck to everyone , im headed there right now
just one thing i noticed when i read the full page , if you do manual update your phone will go back as brand new meaning you'll lose all your info except for the stuff on your SD CARD , SO IT WILL ERASE EVERYTHING ON YOUR PHONE , i personally dont care because i wanted a fresh start anyway , good luck to all , hoping we all enjoy the fun of gingerbread , ill post later after im done updating , best of luck for all ,
huh weird, that's what I've been looking at with firefox, just now tried chrome and IE to be sure, still the only thing showing up for me is the htc sync and a note about the april (hspa+) rom update.
Maybe they're staggering the release even from their webservers to different isps or subnets. dunno. I'm jealous.
