[Official] I Got My S4

I got my phone 10am today once the doors open at best buy. It's a great phone so far I haven't learned all the functions but getting there.
 
I got mine day before yesterday. Its cool iam just worried it gets heated more than normal when playing games
 
I got mine today, $200 16GB White, they had no more black ones. Saying goodbye to my HTC Incredible that lasted me for 4 years...hopeful that this one will last just as long.

I'm outside the USA and have the Octa and it's box was the smaller one to, 1st time I see that big box.
 
I got my white S4 a week ago from yesterday at a T-Mobile store. It was an upgrade from my T-mobile G2 which barely worked anymore. It is my first smartphone without a physical QWERTY keyboard, aside from my Evo & now iPhone 4 which are for work. (Yes, I'm a two phone juggler.) I was a Sidekicker before the G2. So the keyboard layout is odd to me... I'm going to read up oj it incase I'm missing something. My battery also seems to die more quickly than most have been saying and I feel like most stuff is turned off. Going to figure that out too. but otherwise, I love this phone!!
 
Expecting my S4 by mid week. Excited for sure. Currently using iP5. My son will be inheriting it as 'gift'. I love the iP5 experience overall, but it gets 'flat' fast.
The 'open' platform of Android keeps brining me back. Always like the expandable memory and customizable camera features.
I choose Samsung because their features, although labelled gimmicky by some, have a cool factor IMHO. The drawback is the plasticky feel. Although the S4 has more aluminum on the contour, the back is still 'cheap'. I am interested in replacing the 'backing' with aftermarket aluminum replacements. These will definitely give the device a more 'pro' or 'elegant' look. I am aware that they compromise the NFC in most instances. We shall see.
 
Just got my I9505 black mist 16GB S4 today to replace my HTC Desire HD which has been feeling a bit long in the tooth with its quaint single core processor.

I'm not bothered about only 16GB because I think that 2GB RAM + 16GB internal storage + up to 64GB SD card storage = plenty to do whatever.

This S4 definitely blows away my old Desire HD, many things are noticeably faster, the sound is much better the screen is stunningly superior and the extra features will be nice to play with.

I've already setup the IR Blaster to control the TV so I never need to worry about where the remote has been put.

When I powered up the phone and gave it the details of my Google account I got all my contacts, E-Mail, calendar and apps - so very easy!
I had used SMS backup on the Desire HD and once it had installed on the S4 I did a restore and got all my SMS texts onto this new phone.

Right now I've just put in my old 16GB SD card but I'll get a new 64GB card in the next few weeks so that I don't run out of room when using the 13mpix camera.
The internal storage can hold my apps and I'll use the SD card for music, books, movies & TV videos, photos and output from the camera app.
 
Just got mine an hour ago. I just bought it outright so I could grandfather in unlimited data. Like it a lot so far. My last phone was a DX; was getting to the point that it could no longer run modern browser software. I got more than three years out of it, though, so that's a pretty good run.
 
I upgraded from my Incredible on Friday. A bit of a learning curve, but I really like it so far.

It even fits in my pocket . . . barely
 
I have had my S4 for about a week I must say that this is the best phone or tablet I have ever owned. Granted, I am coming from a Samsung Galaxy Prevail, but I do own an Asus Infinity and a Nexus 7 so I know what Android can do. I have been running nova launcher, Tasker, juice defender, NFC launcher and multiple widgets with no apparent slow down. I ran the phone for the first few days without doing anything to it and i was surprised at how good the battery life was, but if you install Juice Defender your battery life goes way up. Right now this is the most advanced android device on the market, phone or tablet. Always having a 13 mp camera at hand is awsome, and Samsung has outdone themselves with the included camera software, many, many modes and cool effect. I think I might not even have a need for either of my tablets now. Anyone want to buy an Infinity or Nexus 7.
Ohh, the case that is pictured is a case from tech 21. It is a protective case that uses a non-newtonian fluid to dissapate the force of the impact. Very stylish leather front flap, can be ordered without and in diffrent colors, and it is much smaller than the otterbox, but don't take my word, look up drop test for s4 tech 21 case.

Well I got my s4 last Sunday at a Verizon store I got lucky. I went in to compare the gs4 to the note 2 and my upgrade is the 18th I don't know if I got lucky or just met the right guy but I was able to upgrade to the gs4 a week and 2 days early.
 
I upgraded mine today. I had a galaxy s2, got 4g(wimax?) signal in most areas around me. This gs4 is really cool so far, but according to the lady I talked to at Sprint, they don't have 4g LTE around me yet. ಠ_ಠ I'm going to the store and talking to them tomorrow again.
 
My wife and I got our SGS4's Friday and we are still finding features and teaching each other things we're stumbling into. This phone has truly made me RTFM, and I'm actually not mad about it :D.
 
I got my S4 to replace my D3. Amazon screwed up the shipping, so instead of receiving it 2 weeks ago, I got it last Mon. and activated it the next day. I rooted it on Fri. I really like the phone and so far am not missing my physical keyboard too much. It's incredibly fast, both the CPU and Internet. I can only compare it with the D3 that I had; this is my 2nd Android phone and surprisingly my 1st Samsung phone.
 
Just got my S4 yesterday. Can't stop fiddling with it. I have not yet made a phone call with it, but just the internet use seems to wear the battery quickly. I have followed all the tips about battery conservation, but this one went from 100% to 30% in 6 hours...is that pretty normal? I know it's a fantastic phone with great features and I hate turning so many of them off to have longer battery life :o

If you installed the latest system update "after" you started setting up your phone, might want to first try and reset your Google Account. If that fails, a factory reset will be needed.. Cleans out some glitching from the update. At least that's the way for Sprint users. Not sure if this applies to others as well.
 
I got my S4 back in June and love it. Upgraded from an Atrix 4G and this is my first Samsung phone. I didn't think I would like Touch Wiz, but I do. For the size it is, I can still use it with one hand, 95% of the time. It is very fast and even though made of plastic, I like it. (I do have an Outterbox Commuter Case and Zagg Invisible Screen Shield on it.) I like a lot of things, but these are my top favorite: 1) HD Super Amoled Screen just looks beautiful; 2) Camera takes great pictures, even in low light if using the correct setting; 3) S beam for transferring files and stuff. (Me and my wife love swapping pictures.); 4) Size of screen and phone, just right for me. (And I said I would never by a phone with a 5" screen.); 5) Battery is outstanding, I can make it through an entire work day and still have 40% battery left. (12 to 14 hrs. work day)
 
My parents also got a his and her S4 (their first smartphones). I need to get smart on how S Beam stuff so that I can teach them how to exchange pics with each other. The hard part is having to do remotely since they're halfway around the country.
 
Picked me up a white one the other day. I actually never thought I'd come back to Android this soon. I had a real nice Windows Phone but as much as I liked it (a lot), there were just some apps/features I needed that I could not get and there was no other alternative. I am NOT an app fanatic and I don't play a lot of games but still I needed to go back to Android to get what I wanted. Oh and iPhone is NOT an option as I find it painfully boring. I'm still getting used to this phone (I did have the S3 once apon a time) so I'm making progress. Just trying to find the best way to take good pictures. The camera on the Lumia 920 is just so good. I hated to give it up but I needed this S4 and it's offerings more. I can now use Google Voice to it's fullest capabilities again. So far, I am very happy with this and I am WAY happy now that I see Android offers a very feature rich version of OneNote so I can still use that. Now it's just a matter of getting every little setting the way I want it. A work in progress. ;)
