[OFFICIAL] I Just Ordered the Nexus 9/ worth purchasing?

I just bought a tablet on the cheap not too long ago. It does what I need as far as watching videos and reading. But wow the Nexus 9 looks awesome. Saving up for Nexus 6 though.

I'm sure you won't be disappointed with the 6. It's nothing to sneeze at!!

Hey hook! Should have known I'd see you around these parts! Are you stalking me?!? :p
I'm not sure if it comes otg ready or not, but like you said, there's always stickmount to fall back on. I mean, you were going to root it anyway right? ;)

More than you know. I just ordered the Black 32GB Nexus 9. I tried to resist, really I did... ;) :D

It'll be interesting to see who ships faster. My supposed expected delivery is November 5th, shipping on the 3rd.

When it comes to Nexus devices, despite how good Amazon is with customer service, I prefer dealing directly with Google. They've always done well by me, so why have a middleperson. ;) Then again, I notice I could have saved shipping. Oh, well.

I suspect release time will be about the same.

Well, had it been available on play at the time I ordered, I probably would have gotten it there. But amazon was the only source at the time. And I believe the seller was actually HTC, so I suppose that's pretty much straight from the source. And yeah, free two day shipping isn't too bad either. :)

Gents,

Any data to suggest Sprint will carry an LTE variant of this tab? id like to have the ability to do LTE but only if its on sprint. Not going to do T-mo.

Also, any updates on if/when gamestop (of all places?!?!? LOL) will carry/pre order these? reason I ask is I have a few gift cards I could throw their way...

Marc, I've been searching around and haven't been able to find any conclusive answers to your questions. Perhaps we'll have a little more information once people get their hands on the device?

From the official nexus 9 specs page:
Telephony

Quad-band GSM, CDMA, Penta-band HSPA,*LTE

They don't list the specific bands like they do for the n5 and n6, but the fact that they mention cdma at all in the specs might at least inspire some hope?

I'm afraid I just cancelled my order. I decided that this actually wasn't the best thing to do with my finances right now and that I could wait. Have a birthday coming up in December. Alas... but I'll live. Will have to spend a short while with vicarious thrills. I'll squeeze a few more months out of the old Nexus 7. :D

Well, that's a bummer, Hook. But in the plus side, now you can get a look at actual hands on reviews and make a more informed decision about your purchase when you come back to it.

i applaud you sir for making this decision and sacrifice. some will go broke trying to get the latest and greatest and you are being, well, an adult!

Awesome post! Many of us don't need these gadgets right at launch but decide to anyway to be like the Jones's.

I think I'll be picking one of these up around the holidays. I just refuse to buy such an expensive product before I see if it properly lives up to the hype.

I REALLY want the LTE version but I'm impatient. :o

I have pre ordered at Amazon and Google play. will see who wins the race to get my money.... :car:

There is a specs page on the info page that you can expand. Not sure if you saw that.

I've always thought the 7 was too small. Now with the Nexus 6 it is even smaller relatively speaking.

I never considered 7 inches "small" necessarily, it's just that when I bought my Note 3, suddenly 7 inches didn't seem "big enough" anymore by comparison. Now that Google is offering a 6 inch phone, it's not really practical to continue pushing a 7 inch tablet. I bought an 8 inch LTE Galaxy Tab 4 and it seems just larger enough to justify having it alongside my phone (and I also haven't touched my Nexus 7 ever since), so I suspect 9 inches would probably feel even better (though 10 inches is too large for my tastes). I just wish they hadn't made the Nexus 9 look like an iPad...

Now I'm debating whether I am better off with a WiFi version and a MiFi hotspot. Wish T-Mobile allowed me to use my Nexus 5 as a hotspot without rooting, but that may change in a few days when my warranty expires and I may decide to root.
