***Official "I will have my Droid X in my hands at such and such date" thread***

Does the speaker sound as good as Moto's original Droid? That speaker was one of the best on a phone I've ever heard.
 
i never heard the orig droids speaker so i can not compare but i can say that the speaker does sound very good, i am more than impressed with the quality of the speaker

I have to agree with you, I've had mine since July 1 and I really like it. I have a body glove hard rubberized case on it now and I'll have the hard silicone case tomorrow to try out. The HDMI cable should be here tomorrow also.
 
Airmaxx, thanx for the heads up on the accessories. i just ordered the home and car docks, should be here thursday. never even thought about it. i just have the black silicone case on it now, always been a fan of these types of cases. i think i will stick with this phone for a while, i really dont see a reason to upgrade. any minor issues, such as copy paste from a browser can be fixed in an update. hope you are enjoying your as much as i have. everyone will be enjoying thiers soon enough.

Did you get the soft black silicone cover or the high gloss black silicone case? The high gloss black silicone case fits real tight and has a stiffer feel than the soft cover. Let us know how the docks are and I'll try out the hdmi cable tomorrow.
 
i got the soft black one, i did not know what all they had and may try the glossy one. this one works fine but the gloss one probably looks alittle better. i will wait until they are in the store so i can see them side by side. i will post some thoughts on the docks when they come in thursday.
 
Well i wont be able to post my thoughts on the car and home dock tomorrow, i sold the Droid X on ebay today so now i am waiting like everyone else.
 
Yes i sold it for 1100. after ebay and paypal fees and the cost of a new one at launch i will clear 368.00 and since the phone comes out in less than a week i took the chance. i am picking up a droid tomorrow and then returning it withing their 30 day window when i get the X. figured why not i can do withour the x for a week.

I would have hated to give the phone up if I had one, but I wouldn't pass up making money. Did the same thing for the Incredible.

I don't think anyone can fault you for that logic. Good show and thanks for being a good sport about the plethora of questions that everyone was throwing at you.
 
Glad i could help and hope i made someones decision to get/not get the x easier. I know after owning it for a week and a half and the newness wearing off i am still thuroughly excited about getting it again, that is how great i thought the phone was. i picked up an orig droid last night at walmart to use for a week and then return and dont really care for it. Good luck to all who are trying to get one on launch day. i am on a mission today to my local verizon to see their launch day policies and also best buy for a last resort second wave pre order.
 
It looks like most stores are opening an hour or two early and a select few are even doing midnight launches.
 
Yea. My decision is to grab at the local verizon store @ 8 or wait till best buy opens @ 10. On the one hand the verizon store is very conveniently on the way to work; on the other hand with BB I don't have to worry about mail in rebate. Still annoy that no one knows the price of the phone with 1 year plan instead of 2. if it is $269 I'll go that route.

I went to my local VZX sotre and while they said they are not taking pre orders they are taking "appointments" for thrusday and the rep that i set my appointment with said he will set a droid x aside for me so when i come in on launch day i would be guarenteed one and would not have to worry about getting there early. wether this actually happens or not i got his card and taked with the manager on duty and confirmed it. Just in case i also pre ordered one at best buy, while i know it may not get it launch day as long as i get one within 30 days i will be cool with that.
 
Yea both stores I visited in boston made the same offer. Turns out the verizon store next to my home opens at 8am (regular time) and it is on the way to work so I might end up going that route.

this talk is making me nervous. i`ll DEFINITELY be at the verizon store at 7:55am. just to be on the safe side.
