***Official "I will have my Droid X in my hands at such and such date" thread***

Hey guys, something I could not find an answer elsewhere... the EVO has a sweet feature where you can set up different home "scenes" and save the way you have the 7 home pages set up. Then you can switch to a preset scene or another saved one. Wondering if this can be done on the X, or is this just a 'Sense UI' thing?

Yea. My decision is to grab at the local verizon store @ 8 or wait till best buy opens @ 10. On the one hand the verizon store is very conveniently on the way to work; on the other hand with BB I don't have to worry about mail in rebate. Still annoy that no one knows the price of the phone with 1 year plan instead of 2. if it is $269 I'll go that route.

The one year price for the Droid X is $369 with a $100 mail in rebate. That is the route that I am taking on the 15th. I spoke with Verizon customer service today and it will come out to like $390 after tax. Hope that helps.

scenes are a sense thing

with apps like laucherpro and AdW, you have the ability to expand the amount of screens(up to 9 and higher on some home replacements!) The problem with setting up one set of home screens with apps and widgets etc., is that even when you're not running that particular home replacement, some of the widgets will still pull data in the background, with can slow your phone down and kill your battery life. I've noticed this with my ally. I have an LG weather widget on the LG Theme, but I run Laucherpro as my everyday home screen. Every once in a while i'll catch that lg weather widget updating in the background.

thanks sir, I've been waiting for the price.

I just wish they would give you the instant rebate like they do online. oh well

I know it kinda sucks that it is not a instant rebate but they did inform me that if you register your rebate online before you mail it, that it will speed up that process to only about a 1 1/2 to a 2 week wait for the rebate back. I thought that was pretty sweet.
