Yeah, but the OS is out dated -_- thats why we need ICS on the Admire to bring the look to the modern chapter... its "under the hood" is just basic.

the 'under the hood' is what makes it all work right tho. A outdated device is pose to have an outdated OS lol. It has what it can handle, which is GB. Putting ICS on the Admire is like installing Win7 on a oldass P4 1.8Ghz with 512MB of RAM. lol Sure it can be done, but doesnt mean its going to run worth a shyt.

But I'm running Windows 8 with my P4 1.8Ghz, and 1GB RAM, and three 1 TB hard drives, and a 128GB Solid State ;P It runs like butter, and the graphics are amazing.

I agree with PG, its not the same as ICS on the SGS4G or the G'Nex..
But, with some hacks, it could run pretty fast and do what it needs too :3

I just wanted to dual-boot it to test it out. But that computer is mainly for my files, backups, and work-related things. Being a Computer Tech at 17 requires A LOT more software then I thought I would need. At least being CompTIA Certified helps with finding a job.

Yea, I'm not saying it wont run on the Admire, just like shyt compared to how it should run.
CM9 runs great on my DroidX, but I know its not as good as it could be due to the locked bootloader and lack of a custom kernel with all the ICS stuff back ported to it.

Back to the topic, KidAllStar put this on GitHub, I want to compile it from source. I'm not bagging on the guy's work.. But I feel like this could be an GingerCreamKangwhich of sorts..

I hate most Droid's for that reason, the fact that most bootloaders are locked, and that Motorola doesn't like releasing source code just kind of makes me want to cut myself...

Then not to mention having to Bootstrap the recovery... and most of the time you need a wall charger to get into recovery unless your using ADB, so its either carry a wall charger or a Laptop...

oh thats just on blur based ROMs lol. On a 2ndinit ROM like CM7/9 everything is normal
And yea same here I would just like to make sure kidallstar is legit n help him himself establish himself if he is.
Hes posted up alot of promised stuff, but has jack to show for it, not even a request for testers.

Only would be a dirty port if he took a rom for another device n cooked it to work with the Admire.
Oh and that battery n cover still aint showed up.
I was under the impression that you had gotten a battery already, someone in irc said you had another connect sent to you.
Suppose I should've checked with you first, muh bad. Ill get it out with Monday's shipments.

I'm with a couple others here. I am extremely skeptical especially because we already had one guy (read: a troll) who thought it would be funny to say he had successfully made CM7 before anyone else.

Unless any release comes from either metroPCS or Samsung, DIRECTLY, it is not official.

I'm just saying, would someone really take the time to BS this? I understand where the doubt it coming from but the majority of people posting in here doubt him highly if not absolutely. It comes across that you want OP to release his work for you to enjoy but at the same time you're going about bashing his credibility piece by piece. Remember that he is in no way,shape, or form obligated to share this with any of us. So can we all relax for now?

At this point I'm not bashing his credibility, but tbh he really has no credibility, no track record, no hey guy I do such n such for a living and we try to do this n this for us all, but rather a profile saying I can do anything, just tell me what ya want. He talks of great things, yet, unlike any other dev I know, hasnt needed the first tester etc.

Fixing an updater-script can be done in 3 minutes after an 18 pack of beer an 3 shots of tequila, so Im not impressed.
Sorry to be a negative nancy, but people need to be realistic and not get their hopes up too high here. Simple fact is as stated above by Pg and myself: No track record, no alphas, no test requests, no teasers, grandiose claims. Suspect ftw.
Not to mention ICS will certainly not run to its full potential on the R720 - flat out.
Im just seriously hoping this is not a GB ROM altered to the point of spoofing an ICS ROM (Which I've seen done on Eclair roms to spoof Froyo)
Focus should be set on completing CM7...

Ive been building cm7 for the past 2 weeks. It took awhile because there was alot of sh*t that needed to be done by hand. Getting stable data is been my main focus. Anyways ics is a big deal. If this guy knows how to mod linux drivers on top of making a great device profile i give it to em. Ive looked into cm9 and let me tell you its been a b*tch. Still have yet to even get the touchscreen to work fully. With all that said i have no eta and couldnt tell you if ill ever finish. I still dont get this.... By offical i think hes trying to say aosp.
