**** OFFICIAL **** ICS COMING SOON thread... Post all questions and info here!!!!

But can someone enlighten me about what is so special at this ICS that everyone wants it ?
I just bought a RAZR Max and I was wondering what that new thing everyone is so excited about will bring to my phone.

performance improvements, take full advantage of the dual cores, hardware acceleration. Plus the native ability to take screen shots, face unlock just to name a few things.

Thanx for info. That would be neat.
I bought my laptop with facial recognition but was useless. To recognize my face would take forever and in the end would open the computer even with anyone's face or no face at all.

I tried the face unlock on the leak and its a neat trick, but not very practical. I switched back after doing it twice. You need lighting, stare at the phone for a few seconds.

The idea is great. In reality the things are complicated. The facial recognition needs a certain amount of light, needs time to recognize the face and needs time to get used with the same face but with a hat or a baseball cap.
At a certain moment the software asked me if I want to set up a password "in case" facial recognition is not really working. At that point I canceled the feature.
But I repeat is a neat idea in theory.

Does ics help with the overheating problem? And i know i asked this... but currently im able to kill my maxx in about 12 hours of pretty heavy usesage.... does this improve battery life and 4g connection issues?

I saw something today that showed the Razr update to ICS now in Q2 of 2013 (sigh).

Edit: 2012, not 2013 - I don't know what year THIS is...

I seriously doubt Moto is going to make us wait that long, considering the rumors of the next android build being released later this summer.

if you are on lte 12 hours with pretty heavy usage is good. Idk what connection issues you are having I do not have any so maybe you got a bad phone? the overheating does not seem normal and could lead to killing the battery faster.

WTH are you expecting from your phone??? "12 hours of pretty heavy usage" and you're still finding a way to complain about it??

Sorry guys, typo above, that should have said 2012, not 2013. I agree, Moto wouldn't make us wait THAT long, Google will be to 'K' by then.
What I saw was the same thing that Euph linked to.

I did not see a complaint in his/hers statement. Just a wish for more battery time. A power user has every right to hope that additional battery time can be achieved. I for one hope ICS delivers an even better battery performance to what I consider a great phone.

Yeah espesially all the reports and various other users claim days of use.... and Motorola claims 21 hours of talk... and about 9 hours of steaming movies.... how the hell was this acchieved... 4 hours top talk time is what i can get. And yes my screen is down.. backgroud disabled.... etc... i do travel on local roads and have 4g service but even using 3g i get no where near the claims. My signal is most always between medium and high... so i dont get it. I cannot wait until I get ice cream sandwich so I can finally take a screenshot... and show you guys what im talking about

I drive too anywhere and everywhere(I'm a truck driver) and I downloaded an app that shows me the battery level+temp+voltage. And last time I charged the battery was last night at 21.20 and now I do have 24 hrs with aprox 6 hrs talking time and the battery level is at 35%.
I think the battery gets used bad when is bad signal or is missing at all. I drove few good hours today with really bad signal.
I'm not taking sides but compared with my good ole Droid X the Maxx is way stronger from battery pov.

One more observation. I made one day my Maxx hot spot for my laptop and I can say the battery got empty quite fast. So, short battery life could be caused by lots of things.

I hope too that the new much trumpeted ice cream thing will make a difference but I'm afraid they wont make the update.
