DROID RAZR Ice Cream Sandwich Build 6.16.211 Rolls Out to Testers, Could be Official:

DROID RAZR Ice Cream Sandwich Build 6.16.211 Rolls Out to Testers, Could be Official – Droid Life

that build has been leaked since last week....

Yeah, some of the wording in the article was a bit misleading, including the title, but that's been changed. The title is now "DROID RAZR Ice Cream Sandwich Build 6.16.211 Leaks, Could Be Official."

The soak test hasn't started, nor has the update rolled out to anyone outside of Motorla/Verizon for testing. This is just another leak that's currently going through internal testing at Motorola that has been pulled via cheesecake. The only difference here is that "sources" believe this will be the official OTA that will go out to soak testers soon and then the general public.

So, no actual soak test has started yet.

And look how many bugs other phone updates had and what it did to the phone( droid x gb, etc) I would rather them have a lot of leaks and make it nearly bug free than have 1 or 2 leaks and a ton of bugs and us be beta testers.

You are 100% correct. I had the X and we got an OTA every month (or so it seemed) and most were bug fixes after bug fixes. I was going to mention that and didn't want to jinx it. Like I said, I hope Moto is doing this to minimize all those bug fixing OTAs after the fact. Just wish they would move a little bit faster.

Hopefully a phone I don't need to restart 7 to 8 times a day to have calling, text, or data capabilities fot starters. Anything else is icing on the cake

I don't know enough about rooted stock or anything like that. I truly don't see after what we pay for our devices and plans, why they shouldn't work right out of the box. That's been my whole frustration since I've gone to the maxx...the constant programs I've had to install, uninstall, monitor, etc just to simply have a working phone...and still not there

What is it that you are doing? Mine was fine out the box and I am looking forward to the extra features of ICS.

Then you must have other problems with your Maxx that ICS will not fix. I restart my Maxx once or twice a month and only becasue I want to and not because I have to. I also routinely get better than 24 hours battery life with regular use.

One thing I learned in the past is with a finicky smartphone, it is possible that the micro-SD storage card is bad or going bad. I had this problem in the past with a HTC Touch Pro and an EVO that I was able to reproduce. Swapping out memory cards fixed the problem.

You may also want to consider a bad sim card or even apps that you have loaded on the phone.... or even a bad phone.

Thinking ICS will fix it for you is setting you up for an unhappy day...

There is a 3 page discussion in the maxx forum where people are having similar data drops and outages. that's why I figured I would wait before I tried to exchange my phone or card. can't be a coincedence that this many people are having problems with the network, data drops, outages, etc... which is why I was hoping it a operating system upgrade would fix all the issues. people said they traded in there sim card and got new phones and still had the same problems

I have some days drops, had them on my bionic and thunderbolt too. I think it is more of a 4g to 3g issue network than a phone issue. Is the data issue the only one you are having?

Same here. I have all three of these phones in my house and a tablet and we go from 3G to 4G and down all the time. I know its due the network but the Maxx is the best of the phones I've ever had.

we could be seeing the official Android 4.0 ICS OTA arrive this weekend or early next week.

Don't get too excited.. for one its not from Verizon, two they say could. Just another rumor.

For those of you that get so disappointed when the rumors become false just realize that this is again another Rumor, yes it would be nice to see it this weekend or next week, but I am not getting my hopes up.

I have to agree about network issues.

Just the fact that all of a sudden ppl with RAZRs n Maxx have been posting about connection issues...this points more to a network issue.
