Soak Test for DROID RAZR and RAZR MAXX Begins Tomorrow Morning, Build 6.12.181 and is Not Ice Cream Sandwich
I am a new member and it is telling me I can't post URLs or pictures until a certain amount of post. Any ideas as to how to get the pictures to you guys?
The Cheescake Update WAS NOT 6.12.181 the cheescake update was 6.14.75.en.US look at my screenshot first page!
Uh,Thats MY POINT. People jumped the gun to grab the cheesecake leak thinking it was going to be an official release. As its not rootable (and many people did lose root) they could have been permanently off the upgrade path with no way to fastboot back just like when a similar thing happend to the Droid Bionic. Luckily for them that wasn't the case but its a damn good reason why you should NOT be installing leaks from cheesecake.
Well any way I guess: I'm not in for the soak test as I still haven't got the 2ed email.

so then basically some ahole made a fake best buy image and put it on the internet to get everyone's hopes up, just to put everyone down when the update didn't roll out.
who would do that? it's really not that funny.
numb moment but does that mean we might infact be getting ICS?
True. But you could have waited a little longer to do it. The day is not over yet. I will sit here in this pumpkin patch until he arrives, Charlie Brown.
The information Moto/Verizon shared with Verizon was almost certainly exactly right, WHEN IT WAS SHARED. These updates are a moving target. If development takes slightly longer then the expect, or it has one questionable test, it loses its OTA window to a different phone and the the date is suddenly wrong. That's a much more likely scenario than a typo.Um, no. That was a real picture from Best Buy's system. But, Best Buy (along with other retailers and even Verizon) often get that kind of information wrong. All it takes is the one person entering things to either not completely pay attention or to assume something beyond what they're told.

All I know is that if I were putting out information for Best Buy, I would not write "ICS is coming to the razr, maxx, and rezound" unless I absolutely knew for sure. And the fact that the dates were different from HTC and Motorola is pretty specific. So I don't see how someone could just casually make a mistake with that. Just my opinion.

There's no reason for anyone to get so upset by all of this. Nothing was ever announced or even the slightest bit official from anyone.
No one was "putting out information for Best Buy." It was a screenshot of their computer system that's intended for internal use only. The public was never supposed to see it. Things like this are not publicly released because they can drastically change at moment's notice. But an employee took a picture and uploaded it online, which they're not supposed to do. So it's not a "casual mistake." They were trying to prepare their employees to properly help customers who might have questions due to an update, and they were doing so based off what information they had.

And the guy in the Blue Polo who shared this picture would probably be fired if Best Buy found out.No one was "putting out information for Best Buy." And then all you will get is a rock.
