Official Metro GSM device/network/Tmobile-ish discussion thread

I have had some hands on time with it but read up on the G2? That phones sounding pretty nice. Those are really the only 2 contenders for me

One thing about the g2 that's holding some is the lack of sd card, and the bad history of lg and updates along with lock bootloader for those that root other than that I think is a solid phone

that's all peaches and cream, but if they dont make a waterproof case for it, i got no use lol

I think they're only having a 32GB version and that's more than enough for me and the flagships are normally good with the bootloader and updates plus it's rumored to be the next nexus phone so maybe I'll get a nicer price going that route

I think it took 800 bucks to help convince bliss

Oh I already did my brown magic on the G2, it's stellar, but the question is, who's network is supporting the LTE-A that the phone is capable of using? And it's probably one hell of a battery hog.

it was far more than that actually, he ported it to several lg devices and so far i believe only one has actually done anything with it (LG OG Pro).

for all intents and purposes the G2 could already be patched against loki, and even if its not there is no promises you can convince Dan to spend hours of work on yet another device when most of teh devices he has ported to have shunned his work.

I don't blame him

630 is too rich for my blood, I don't think people are willing to pay more than a metro S4 for that just a thought.

that's why it's OBO, reason it started at that price is only because the case itself sells for $40 brand new, and the factory unlocked ones go for a pretty penny, plus it's already in metro's whitelist, so that's saving another $15 right there, not trying to sound rude, just explaining myself :D

Tmos supposed to start implementing LTE-A features by the end of the year which may be part of Phase 3 of uncarrier

here's a shot with the LTE logo...

here's a speed test result I had taken under lte...the ping is SUPER LOW and speeds are much better with only 1 bar of lte..network also says LTE

this is a speedtest I just took under "4G" the speeds are still good..also in my home.. this beats by far what I use to get at my home..i also NEVER had full bars at home..

let me know what im getting... but my experience im definitely getting GSM..i get wifi calling and all the tmo goodies..

yep he's correct considering that my choice was between the 2 lg's and I told the guy I wanted the L9 because of the screen and he told me it was a gsm phone like the other lg but then he gave me the f3 I wasn't aware until today when I looked at the box but I kept reminding myself the screen is smaller then what I remember..but im not complaining at the faster speeds.. MY fault guys!:smokingsomb::rolleyes:

and another thing too, with tax, down here at least, and upgrade fee, is $597.84, plus a case, so the price really isn't that far off considering the circumstances

I just got a Lumia today, but the coverage where I live is terrible. Are there any plans to expand the hspa+ network? I'm in the suburbs of Baton Rouge, btw.

Hey all. I'm considering moving to Metro for my phone service, from Virgin Mobile.

I am interested in the Optimus L9 which is 4G, but does not say 4G LTE like the Optimus F3 does. What is there difference here?

My sister has the ZTE Avid 4G and my mother has the LG Motion (4G) and they seem to get good 4G speeds, so I'm wondering if I should expect similar results or am I getting a different 4G, so to speak.

My g/f has Tmobile..MyTouch I think is the phone, and says the 4G is pretty terrible. Just not sure what the differences are and what data speeds to expect.

Can anyone clarify please?
