Official Metro GSM device/network/Tmobile-ish discussion thread

Re; my prior post about no GSM phones activated in stores to demo down here.

I just shot this to the Mothership backchannel at Faceplant.

I have more info for you on the GSM demo phones in stores here. I called the Corporate store on Archer Road in Gainesville, Fl, about 40 miles North of here. Though the clerk took a bit to understand what I was asking, apparently that store DOES have Activated GSM phones there for customers to demo.

She however wasn't really getting the idea even at the corporate store that I as a customer might want to run a comparison speedtest in the store to compare the new GSM network to my Spirit.

ATTN; Associate Training. Every employee should be wearing their lighted flashing Bigger! Better! Faster! pins and ringing the New! Improved! bell LOUDLY for all the customers who come in the store.

TOUT that new network, Encourage a known CDMA customer to see with their own eyes the new mo betta speed tests. I've said it before and I'll say it until you hear me, If you don't give me a good reason to come to the GSM light now, I'll just calmly wait til mid '14 for the coming incentives to transfer then.

Apparently though, at least the Cell Touch Auth dealer stores down here Still need to get onboard with having GSM demos available in store.

maybe they are waiting so they can release a phone with 4.2, then lg users wouldnt have to worry about if they were getting any updates :P
 
Has now started in non CDMA home markets

Lmao its not me but as you can see by the 311-660 its on the metro network and the amount of spectrum used has been doubled from 5x5MHz to 10x10MHz but thats not a metro home area so I'm guessing those are on for tomorrow
 
unfortunately I broke my S3 at work mind you it had an defender series otterbox and still was able to crack beneath and damage the digitizer and the screen is pretty much black...I had to upgrade(downgrade?) to the L9..so on one side sucks I had to get the 60 unlimited..on the other I do love the added speeds of tmobiles network..i have not seened 3G not once! I would get 3G here and there some spots in my home but now I only get 4G and it's 4+ bars..alot of the time it's full!

I have seened the LTE icon at times and I've done a speedtest on it and was getting constant 15's.. on "4g" which im assuming is hspa+?? someone correct me.. but I get an average of 5-9 speeds.. on metro I would get 2-4 average..this is my home.. I wish it would get LTE in my home but no luck..the times I've seened lte though it's been like 1-2 bars..never more.. the phone is eh...but I do love wifi calling as well! it's super clear! ..im really missing the screen size of the s3...I plan on either repairing it or getting the note3 when released..

LG L9 doesn't have LTE
 
I think Sunday it will at least start, metro tends do behind the screen stuff sundays

Well looks like even the customer service for metro has their system down for an upgrade that wont be completed till 7 am central. So looking forward to some changes guys!

If you haven't played with an S4, it's all you've heard about it and then some, I just got mine today, blows my xperia out the window on some cement.

I have had some hands on time with it but read up on the G2? That phones sounding pretty nice. Those are really the only 2 contenders for me
