Official MetroPCS BYOD discussion thread

Got a question. My Buddy just gave me a brand new iPhone 5 with iOS 7 installed (which he put on, of course). It is a Verizon phone. Can I use that with metro pcs?

According to Metro's website, it is capable, as long as it's unlocked.

OK just wanted to let ya know I was able hook my Nokia lumia 820. I was also able to convinced them to upgrade one of my lines from the old unlimited 4line family plan but once they calculated the price, it was 157 so it just made sense to switch to the new 4g family plan of 4 lines for 140. Oh and to let you guys know, you don't have to go to the store to activate your gsm phones, you can do it over the phone just like I did. Just make sure you purchased the sim card though because they need that info.

Everything is working fine on my Nokia, only thing is that at&t did something to prevent me ( And I believe all at&t Nokia users) from enabling/disabling my 4g and 3g so now my data is all over the place, to E to Lte then back down to E and up to 4g. It's annoying.:(

i dont believe you are getting LTE, from the specs it looks like you live in a refarmed tmobile area allowing you to use 4g hspa+

AT&T's Lumia 820 is B4 capable so could be getting LTE

Yea the Nokia 820 has pretty much the same specs as the 920 so yea it gets LTE. My issue though is that the network is going all over the place :( and not much I can do because of the latest updates at&t pushed out on the lumias to disable the feature that allows you to manually pick 4g or LTE just like the overseas lumias. :(

from my understanding plenty of people on the lumia 920 havent been able to use it on tmo lte.

LTE sucks when I'm home but once I got on the road to us1, LTE was stable and real fast. Oh and just to show you that I do get LTE

I looked at it, and I did the googling, but I think this might require a sharper mind then mine to confirm this.

Thanks

Yes it has B4 LTE capability so should have no problem in getting on tmo LTE

AT&T version

definitely not trying to doubt your knowledge, but how would you be able to confirm it, because if it is, I will put my s4 for sale right now lol, and you said the ATT version, just to make sure? again, totally not trying to doubt you in any way, just alot of money to throw at a phone if I'm not 100% sure.

Thanks

Cant you just flash radio bands on phones to get different types data signals? I have the gs2 skyrocket and on the stock radio i could only get hspa edge and lte. But with the flashed radio i get hspa+, hspad, Lte, and edge.
