Official MetroPCS BYOD discussion thread

Did you call metro pcs and attach your imei to your sim? It wont work unless the imei and sim are in the system together.

Is it called metropcs LTE. That you have it under. Right now I am grasping at straws

Don't get why under LTE I get no service...😭

In APN settings, I noticed my APN protocol is greyed out and set at IPv4 but should be IPv6. Could that be the problem?

i could be totally wrong but i think it has something to do with your custom rom. the option for grayed out ipv6 is usually found in custom roms. i know that a lot of nexus 5 users get LTE on ipv4 protocol so...
in the metropcs APN setting do you have
MVNO type GID
MVNO value 6D

just to try something

I added the MVNO type GID and
MVNO value 6D then had no data...voice only. Very puzzling.

could use a lil help here. ive recently began getting worse service in my home and around town, to the point where i can no longer even reliably send or receive texts in my house let alone make or receive calls. surprisingly my data continues to work fine and i get a solid 4g connection.

outdoors its better but people still generally have trouble hearing me and sometimes i get disconnected.

i live on long island and i used to get real good service, is it possible that its just the phone crapping out or does it have to do with the merger?

also if i were to get a new phone should i get another one direct from metro or should i get a t-mobile? t-mobile obviously has a much better selection but i wanna make sure itll work well.

Data is communicated through a different network than voice/text(sms). MMS is the same as data I believe. Your issues could be due to them upgrading/changing towers in your area. There are more knowledgeable people here who should chime in on these issues as well. As for a new phone, T-Mobile phones work on Metro, it's the same network. You could also look at grabbing a no contract phone such as the Nexus, Moto phones or the other options available.
