Official "New Android Market" Discussion thread!

15 minutes seems like a BAD idea! What if you're looking for an app but not sure what it is called and you have to keep searching? Guess you have to come back the next day and try again.
 
Since I installed the apk from XDA, I was able to uninstall it without any problem! I used Quick Uninstaller to just uninstall it! Now I'm back to the old, faithful version WITHOUT time limits and the slowness!
 
Just noticed the new market on my incred.
Not sure if i like it or not.
Anyone have thoughts about it?

*Though I did find free frogger from vzw as i was checking out market.
It's pretty much as i remembered it, still sorta fun.
 
Besides the UI, thumbs down. It's noticeably slower than the old one, but it might work better on Gingerbread.

ETA: After 20 minutes of clearing, I went back into the MP and it was updated. I had to re-mark all my d/l apps for auto d/l except for the "google" apps. They were automatically set for auto update.
 
Other than eye candy changes, there is nothing really there to make me take notice. So I could go either way. The 15 minute return policy blows, but that isn't tied to the new Market.

You might have to reboot your phone after clearing the cache and data before accessing the Market for it to work. I know of two people who had to do this for theirs to change over. Let me know if this works better.
 
Got the new market last night and now when I go to "my apps" to see my downloaded apps I get a network error sign anyone else get this?

I'm sure the time limits are independent of which version of market you're using. You will have the same 15minute refund window as everybody else.

Still, I can see the argument for going old school. Way too much lag for no real benefit.
 
I just got it. I don't like it at all. I miss the comments and related tabs, made it much easier. This is basically a down grade that just happens to look nice. I miss the update all button that would always POP up no matter how many apps you needed to update. Also, the best paid, best free, and the just in tabs are weird now. Those tads are a curved line now, and him having trouble trying to hit them.
 
I still have the old market but I can't get any updates. I click on the update tab but it just sits there and does nothing.

Ya its looks a lot better. But my phone is starting to act like a blackberry (lol). Seems to be force closing a lot too. Even my sms and music have started force closing. :(

It doesn't mean that you only have 15 minutes to surf the market, it means you have 15 minutes after paying for an app to refund your money back.

I'm in agreement looks nice , but slower and does not run as smooth.
also FC more often and for my fat thumbs the update button and uninstall are too close together.
 
Looks like I just got it on my phone tonight. Other than the "neato" aspect of it, I don't much care either way.

I just got it and this describes exactly how I feel about it :(
