[Official] Nexus 6 Accessory Thread

I was never prividlged by Vzw to have the ability to own an N5...
1) did you take the film off? i see a lot of ppl say you had to take film off for whatever reason.
2) was it a dust magnetic...?

The film issue was just on the outside. With the film on (it was never meant to stay on post purchase) it looked scratched. The issue is that the port holes were not closed (otterbox has flaps over the port holes) so dirt and lint will get between the case and the phone (while in your pocket). This happens with all cases. Being that the clear part is plastic (technically the whole thing is but this is like a window film) the dust didn't settle to the corners, like most cases, but instead stuck in the middle of the phone. I can only assume it was due to a static cling type thing. Either way the clear back (while very nice) shows everything under the case and unless the port holes are closed you will get dirt/lint under the case.

With that said, I fell in love with this company's products and have purchased two for my Nexus 6. I will just stay away from a clear back.

ohhhhhhhhh i see i see

I'm still curious about a dedicated desktop and car dock for the Nexus 6. Is Motorola good about having these accessories built for a specific model of phone?

Any clue if the N6 has magnets to hold it better to Qi chargers or Docks? I currently have a Mountek magnetic mount that works great with my N5 and I am looking at the Qi Air Dock

I'd like to try out the Qi wireless charging, so I'm looking to get a charger/dock that stands the phone upright. I've seen some out there, but I didn't know if anyone had any recommendations.

Google put out some accessories if someone wants to link them. I just got work.

These are what I saw on the Play store:

Naked Tough Case for Nexus 6

Stand Folio Case for Nexus 6

Not really crazy about either design myself, and doesn't Google usually charge an arm and a leg for their Nexus accessories? I know some of their tablet covers were way pricier than you could get them for from other manufacturers.

comes with an authentic serial number to verify its legit.

if anyone gets this case, do NOT pull out the kickstand when the case is not on the phone as the kickstand will "slide up" into the case.

not a big deal if you do but just be aware.. ;)

How thick are the Spigen cases generally?

I've never put a case on my phones, but up until now they've always had replaceable backs so if they got scuffed up I could just swap the back plates. Since the Nexus 6 doesn't have that, I'm thinking about biting the bullet and grabbing a case.

I don't want something too thick though, as I'm planning on getting a wireless charger and I don't want it to interfere with that function. I also don't want to add too much bulk to an already large phone.

I was thinking about getting the Neo Hybrid, but I'm not sure how big/bulky that line generally is.

Also are there any other case manufacturers I should look at for something like this?

Thanks for the heads up with that but I'm still getting the case. It just looks awesome on the Nexus 6. I'll just get an additional case to switch things up.

ordered direct from Spigen storefront on amazon. look up their store name and search from there.

i ordered from the USA amazon site.

perhaps you can go to their website directly and not through amazon?

Wow, from what I gather, you got lucky. Spigen seems to have removed their Nexus 6 cases, and possibly a lot more, from Amazon. Weird.

I was trying to order from Amazon and not directly through Spigen because I have a line of credit with them.

This will be the first phone for which I am not planning to buy a case or holster. I bought one for my N5, and my S4 before that, and took it off after a few weeks because it made the phone feel bulky. With the N6 already large(r), I can't bring myself to getting a case.

With my luck however, I'll end up dropping it (even thought I'm yet to drop any of my phones on the ground)!!! Thankfully, my Credit card covers my phone as long as I pay my phone bill using it.

Ordered a dbrand skin for the back, and waiting on a good tempered glass protector for the front :)

Got my Cruzerlite case today. So far, I really like it. It provides a little more grip, which is appreciated on a phone this size, and it seems to keep the increased bulk down to a minimum. I'm sure it's not the sturdiest case available, but it fits what I was looking for to a tee.

My only concern is if I'm going to need to remove it when I get a wireless charging station. Hopefully it's thin enough to use without having to take it off each time.
