Just ordered mine Friday, set to arrive Monday sometime!

My Nexus came Monday whilst I was at work and the courier left it at my local post office. Which I collected after work. My word what a device. Really really good and is easier to hold than I initially expected.

Won't risk screwing up a $700 cellphone, my next phone would be $10 flip style tracfone , no camera, no web opition, no email, a simple straight talk and text device

When I read the reviews I originally thought you would need two hands for this thing, then I saw it at the c.e.s show and thought it was big but not huge, its a great phone
 
Been using this now for a week and it's a brilliant phone and such a good battery life, for me I get around 20 hours. although this is not constant use it's good to be able to have my phone at work with mobile data always on. I find this handy as I use WhatsApp and like to be notified when I get messages from my other half at home or work, as we both use this app.

I think I've finally found a phone I want to use forever (until 24 months from now anyway)

I can see myself with this phone two years from now even three. Size wise this is large as I want to go, being its a nexus you can count on it receiving the latest updates for at least two more years, this phone is a keeper

Yeah I think I may agree, as long as the battery remains on top form then yeah.

Yea I am with you on that, I have been off of Samsung for a while now. That said my wife loves loves loves her Note Edge and I will go out of my way to go and check these (S6 and S6 Edge) out in person. Now that they ditched the plastic I want to see how they feel in hand and see if the reviewers are right that this is the "most polished android handset EVAR".
 
The only thing Samsung I've been consistently impressed by is my DLP TV. Damn thing just keeps on going... I think the ballast is going out, but it has been for years now and ends up working after a few tries. Other than that, I have ~40k hours on my second lamp. Original color wheel, can't even hear it.

My Samsung phones? Meh... Hoping for a good long run with my N6. No Samsung will sway me back their way.
 
My wife has a Galaxy S3 and my son has the S4. Both are very happy with them. I have an old S2 that I play with from time to time and other than the lousy radios, I never really had any complaint, but it wasn't anything that gave me any pride of ownership. The best phone I ever owned was my Nexus 1 .... until I got my Nexus 4. That was the best phone I ever owned ... until I got my Nexus 6. :D

Unless Samsung produces a phone that is completely open, unlocked and makes me coffee, or Google wraps a canine helically around an axis ( screws the pooch ;) ) , It's Nexus for me.
 
I have to say I was surprise when I heard about the redesign body with the s-6, encased battery, no sd-card metal frame, I think Samsung kind of got smart, their making a great phone then in casing it in cheap plastic. I will be staying with the nexus 6. While the s-6 appears to be a nice phone, its still a Samsung which means a lot of bloat ware and slow to no updates. At least with the nexus 6 we know we will get at least one or two more updates after 5.1 comes out
 
Ordered direct from Motorola with their financing last night 64 gig Blue version. Will be here in a week or so.

Cannot wait to get a batwings back in my hand after these years of inferior radio phones (Gnex and M8).

Before I got my S4 I wanted a Samsung, I really like what they do, this laptop I'm typing from is a Samsung and the TV my missus is watching, is also a Samsung, there are a few more Samsung devices in my house. I enjoyed my S4 and it was a very reliable handset that hardly ever let me down. Plus the battery didn't fade as the one on my HTC Desire HD did at the end of that contract. However when I saw the Nexus 6, something just talked to me and told me I wanted it.

That was that, I don't regret waiting for the S6 either

I usually don't have to worry about it,guess it's a notion from a few yers ago that still nags at me,enough to where I always buy either an extended battery &/or a 2nd OEM battery w/charger. :nailbitingdroid:

To each their own, and I don't really care what you do with your phone. But these days, even on the 1% chance you brick it, it's very recoverable. Most "bricks" are actually "soft bricks", and fixable. Hard bricking a phone beyond repair is almost unheard of.

Nothing beats having a custom recovery option to backup your phone/install roms. On top of that, Nexus phones are notoriously easy to hack. Nexus Root and Toolkit makes it real easy to customize your Nexus.

Anyway, I'm getting my Nexus 6 tomorrow and can't wait. When I clicked the "buy now" button a couple of days ago, a wave of endorphins rushed through my body like taking a hit of crack. Exhilerating. Can't wait to start playing around with it.

Congratulations on getting the nexus 6, like I said I won't risk bricking this phone, so I won't fool around with a costume ROM especially since it would invalidate the warranty and my replacement phone would some cheap $20 prepaid tracfone device. I do have my old LG L90 maybe I will see if I can root that thing
 
I can understand your apprehension and I wouldn't begin to try and pressure anyone into anything they weren't comfortable with. I almost always run new phones completely stock for a few months for two primary reasons. First, to make sure that it works properly. The vast majority of hardware problems will happen within the first few months under normal use, so if it's going to need a warranty claim, it will happen earlier rather than later. And second, to have the stock experience.

Of course, I will inevitably root. The N6 was probably the quickest to root for me and it was really just to get rid of the annoying AT&T OEM partition with that idiotic splash screen and irritating startup cacophony. ;)

A nexus device is probably one of the hardest to brick, though. As long as you can get into bootloader mode, it's recoverable. The only thing I could think of that would brick a Nexus is either flashing a corrupt bootloader image or interrupting a flash of the bootloader.

As to the warranty, technically flashing non-stock firmare does invalidate the warranty, but I've never heard of any Nexus being denied a warranty claim for failed hardware, flashed or stock, and I've seen bricked Nexuses replaced under warranty after a failed flash. The manufacturers have been very liberal with these policies as if the phones are expected to be modified (which they kind of are ;) ).

If you ever decide it's time to root, we can walk you through it step by step and point out the things to watch out for and where any potential risks lie.

I bought mine 30 days ago & called to see if they'd credit my account the difference.
They met me half way & a $50 credit will be applied to my next bill. :thumbsupdroid:

If you've bought it within the past 14 days,you could return it & purchase again,but,T-Mo has a $75 re-stocking fee.
Perhaps one could negotiate w/Customer Care to do the return "on-paper" &/or have the re-stocking fee waived,to realize the full $100 savings.
