Official Release Date Rumor Thread

If they were worried about people exchanging the gs2 for an iphone 5, couldn't they just sell it with the stipulation that states you may not exchange it for an iphone 5, or you may exchange it but have to pay an additional fee or something like that?

So are we pretty much back to not knowing any date at all for the phone? This is getting pretty hard to deal with now. Waiting for a phone that others in other parts of the world already get to enjoy (And yes I know I can spend a huge amount of money and not get a warranty but get the phone unlocked) and not even have a date of release yet.

fyi, you can always get insurance on any electronic device you get. granted you pay for it all up front, but it comes out cheaper than the $5 a month you pay with AT&T

I do not believe he is referring to the insurance, but the manufacturers warranty. Should be included with a $600 device. Also no support from samsung_- software updates, tech support, nothing.

I have unlimited everything on Att...and pay $45/month :P

How the H*ll do you get all that for $45 a month? My fiancee and I are on an AT&T 2-line familiy plan. We are on the old $5 texting, a "special" 550 minute/month talk plan that wasn't even shown as part of their regular plan (we don't use many minutes) that is supposed to be $10/month cheaper than thie 700minute basic plan, and my fiancee has a $15 data plan. I DON'T have a data plan because I'm still on a messaging phone AND I'm getting a small discount each month because I'm considered a state employee.

We pay 20 to 30 dollars more a month than you!!????????????

I think All At&t family plan customers received unlimited texting upgrade last week, and unlimited mobile to mobile ....check your account

Hrrmmm....gotta check into this....

Has anyone heard anything about sgh-i927 lately? I google it by both that name and "Samsung Gidim" every day hoping to find a release date. According to that roadmap, it was supposed to be released this quarter.
I know that it turned out to not be a Galaxy phone per se, but do you think there's any chance of it being released around the same time as the Attain? Or has it just fallen off the face of the earth?

Bump for this guy.

My guess would be he is still grandfathered into the old CellularOne plan. They had a plan for unlimited everything for about that price before AT&T gobbled them up. Unfortunately that is the reason I am stuck with AT&T because CellularOne was the only provider with good coverage around here. The rest are very spotty or nonexistent.

I don't see how that's possible considering he said he left Sprint last month. I think the only way he is getting unlimited everything for $45/month is if he is on a plan with about 5 other people. Still wouldn't be unlimited internet though unless he talked his way into it.

Add a line 9.99 and $30 unlimited data {iphone 2g trick}

we have five lines and a pc and its less than $200 a month i think.

Oh....rumors are floating around that att will be announcing a new phone tomorrow so watch facebook and tweets

Sadly it may just be the HTC Titan :(

I've been following this forum for about a month trying to find the release date. I never thought I'd break the news to you guys but ATT just posted on Facebook the release date just now...Oct 2 in stores and online.

Cool, but now I'm starting to wonder if its even worth it. I may still get it. Not sure why this device makes me feel like I would be jumping on a bandwagon sort of like the iphone feels like

I haven't found any solid information about the Iphone 5 or 4S....I've had blackberry, then Iphone and now Blackberry Torch (worst mistake ever) and now I am excited about the Attain. Big question, will this phone be outdated in 2 months with this looooong delay? Thoughts?

Rumors say first week of October as well. Its pretty weird for At&t to release both phones around the same time but oh well.

I've had, tried, all those phones you mention and none of them can do as much as the android phone can. It just does the same things differently so make sure you play around with one before you buy it. Will it be outdated? I would have to say a big "Nahhh". I've had my htc inspire 4g since it came out basically. I even tried the atrix and infuse and came back to htc not worrying about if it was outdated as it still did everything I needed it to do fine and still does.

Heres a link from engadget, wonder how much it will be off contract:

Yeah my brother works at AT&T and he just got this email:

"@ATT: The Galaxy S II will be available starting October 2 for $199.99 w/2-yr contract! Min. $15/month data plan req'd"

Took long enough right.

And they put that on their twitter account lol

"ATT AT&T

Buwahahahahahahah! :D

Now I want to see what he gives me as a release date for the Celox.

So the iphone..is that rumor or hard release date...

like I mentioned before...with the Celox (the phone Sammy is testing now) and the Holiday right around the corner, it just seems silly to buy the Attain at this point. (unless you like the smaller screen and have no LTE)

currently his testing comparison is that the Celox is having far less random issues than the Attain did, but that the processor "feels" slower.

I still have no been able to meet up and try it out.
