It looks like the date for the RAZR has been changed. Wish they would move up the date for the Vigor/Rezound! Would the fact that a phone is available for pre-order have any effect on the dates listed on these??

Galaxy Nexus, HTC Rezound (still) bound for Verizon on November 10th, Droid RAZR bumped to October? -- Engadget

Yes, they're getting that date off a MAP (Minimum advertised price) list, basically that lists tells you when and the lowest prices you can advertise a phone for. Since VZW is going to take pre-orders, the time frame for advertising the RAZR at $299 needs to open before release. I'd still speculate for it on the 10th.

There seems to be a lot of either information or misinformation flying around about the 10/27 date for the RAZR. I had read earlier (though I can't remember where) that 10/27 was the date to begin pre-order. Everything I'm finding now is talking about it actually being released on that day. I still think 11/10 for all three phones.

Here is a question to sweeten this pot. Anyone heard any recent rumors on the droid loyalty program and how it's going to work? As you will all recall, the Incredible was droid branded. However, many of the new VZW phones don't seem to have that branding.

The DROID DOES website confirms the RAZR won't be physically available until November. (See "Breaking cover in November" at page bottom). October 27 is still just for preorders.

it is available for almost all sense roms i am running it on my INC2

Yeah, I figured it had wider applications but based on what they mentioned in that post I thought I'd play it safe. What's your opinion of the "Beats" based on that rom? Is it all gimmick and no substance?

"beats" is nothing more than specific EQ settings, you can achieve the same thing if you fiddle with the EQ. There was a very well written review a few weeks ago, unfortunately I can't find it atm. If I do I'll post a link.

You know in certain company "ATM" means something ENTIRELY different....

Trust me I know the whole "Beats" and "Dr. Dre" stuff is mostly a marketing gimmick, but I know some people were really looking forward to that particular feature and to be honest I can't blame them if their current phone is a Thunderbolt. Of course the biggest issue with the Thunderbolt is the low volume recording so I doubt that Beats will help with that issue.

Personally, I think money is probably better spent on some high quality headphones. I bought me a pair of Klipsch Image S4 earphones marked down from $80 to about $40 online. While they're not the greatest headphones I've ever purchased for the price they're not bad.

I would be that certain company that always has to re-read a post when someone puts that abbreviation in.

Automatic Teller Machine?

Now I have to wait till I get of work to look up this "alternative" meaning.

@TxGoat, its amazing what a good pair earphones can do. I bought a pair of Sennheiser 300cx(I think) for like $60, the difference between them and your normal $20 pair from best buy is insane...

Definitely! And one thing I'll say to you (especially if you're under 30-40 years old), if your parents have an old stereo with an old turntable (doesn't really work with the new turntables as much) with a true diamond tipped needle, have them crank it up with those headphones and listen to how much fuller music sounds on that old technology vs MP3 files. I can see why some people have gone back to vinyl when I listen to some of their old records.

Yep looks like it and about time! HTC is apparently sending out invites for an 11/3/11 product announcement for a handset featuring Beats audio. About time the Vigor/Rezound is acknowledged by HTC!

one of the links i read on the Nov 3rd event says this device will possibly have a 1.5ghz processor? ....which one would that be? As in which chip number of the Qualcomm line?

the MSM8660?

Definitely gonna be a 1.5 dual.. don't remember what else the FCC docs said though....

link to story on our site(here): HTC to Drop Beats at November 3 Press Event, HTC Rezound Unveiling Likely

yeah i read that story and there are other blog sites with a similar story, none of which say anything other than dual core 1.5

Okay, I'm back after a 5-day work-a-thon. It looks like I'm just in time for things to heat up too:D

The Rezound will have the Qualcomm S3 (MSM8660) clocked at 1.5GHz.

it will be interesting to see the battery life on that thing stock......guess that is why they're offering an extended battery that is bigger than the actual phone.

Speaking of the Qualcomm S3, that chip set comes with the Adreno 220 GPU, a GPU that a lot of people like to say is not very good. I'm sure we all remember the Nenamark results posted by the Rezound (ADR6425LVW) in July. This morning, I noticed a new posting by the Rezound in the Nenamark 2 results.

Here's the link: Nena Innovation AB - NenaMark results

For those not familiar, Nenamark 1 and 2 are GPU benchmark tests. Nenamark 2 is newer, and not optimized for any particular chip set.

Here's a link to a description of this benchmarking software:

Nena Innovation AB - NenaMark Story

Check out the ADR6425LVW, and how it compares with other new phones (Droid RAZR, Droid Bionic, Galaxy Nexus, etc.).

Now, benchmarks are not the end-all, be-all in terms of real world user experience, and the not as of yet released phones may not have been fully optimized when tested, meaning that their scores will improve.

The bottom line though, is that 35.70 fps on a 1280 x 720 screen is a very solid result, and this phone will indeed be able to compete with the other top dogs in terms of hardware.

I'm sure that the battery life on the stock battery will be comparable to the other 1st gen LTE releasing now. IMO we won't see a significant improvement until the 28nm chips start appearing in these phones.

Thanks for this, good info!

Hmmm. Dropped the Nexus off the list due to no sd slot and still concerned with 4430 and fixed battery in the Razr....

The concern with this device is if same LTE chip as the TB, but my Flyer just has the single core version of this Qual chip and punks my Droid 3 and Thrive for performance- REAL performance and not synthetic benchmark BS.

Will stick with Razr, unless LTE on V greatly improved over Thunderbolt. If better LTE chip, will have to at least consider the V.

ReZound, that is.
