I really like the Scorpion dual core, but the device needs to prove that it will not be a power hogging 3G/4G juggling mess like the TB, when using 4G. That and the high res super LCD seem potential power hogs, so look forward to people testing the device out- a LOT and giving feedback :)

Battery life is my only real concern about this phone, but I just don't see it being noticeably worse than the GN or DR.

I'll be happy to report back to you on my real-world experience with this beast after the 14th.;)

What does it take for Verizon to get a 4G phone that also supports GSM? I'm getting really impatient and almost ready to give in and get the Rezound. But with my luck, they'll come out with exactly what I want 31 days afterwards so I will be outside of my window to return it. Ugh. :(

Unfortunately, NightAngel79 is right on- it will take devices powered by 28nm SoC's or LTE modems. The current generation LTE radios are too big to be matched with the rest of the required hardware in a world phone.

The new EVO Design on Sprint is a world phone, but that one uses WiMax, not LTE.

isn't the RAZR technically a world phone AND LTE?

Technically being that it's available in Europe?

Speaking of....another feature that really has me looking closer at the Razr is it has "HDMI Mirroring mode", which is "fancy speak" for HDMI out. The Thunderbolt didn't have this when it came out, and I think it STILL doesn't have this feature. If the Rezound doesn't have a video out/HDMI out I think that will definitely compel me to look at the Razr.

And there's NO WAY I'm paying $150 for an accessory to get video out from an HTC phone.... http://shop.htcpedia.com/htc-media-link-dlna-tv-adapter.html

So what you are saying is that it's just not feasible to have both an LTE chip and a GSM chip in a single phone?

"Exclusive version" = they probably slapped on some Verizon app that makes it "exclusive". I have an "Exclusive version" of Sense 3.5 on my Thunderbolt since my contacts are like no one else's contacts on their 3.5 Thunderbolt...I'm like a snowflake!!

Right. For now it's not feasible to put a CDMA radio, GSM radio and LTE radio in a single phone, at least until the new, smaller process chips and radios are commercially available.

I just found this, hope it's legit.

S-Off Rezound?!

IIRC, TeamAndIRC tweeted about a month ago that he had found at least one, if not two different exploits for root on this phone...FWIW I also read a rumor the other day that Rezound will not have a locked bootloader, but I highly doubt VZW will allow it to remain that way when it finally goes on sale.

Yeah, I saw that as well. As long as it's not encrypted, being locked shouldn't be an issue.

That's disappointing, but I understand.

I agree. When I first heard about his phone, I was hoping for an S4 chip set in part for this very reason. The 28nm chips should start appearing in phones by mid-2012 (and hopefully sooner), so the ability to have a CDMA / GSM / LTE handset is not too far off.

Ha exclusive or not it is still the battery, resource hog sense. Drop sense go stock htc and I think you would see much better battery life with the tiny batteries you stick in your phones.

Exclusive cause no one else has a sense 3.5 phone right now (not officially)

merged with main thread:)

Good find. I'll post the specs in here since some people will probably whine about clicking an extra link.... :D

and LOL@ Nightangel. You must be really really really looking forward to this phone's release!

Too bad the "Preregister at Verizon" button doesn't work.

1. He ain't the only one:D; and

2. I hope that's not a sign of things to come!

Hey, I'm from SoCal...land of the personalized license plate. Deciphering names like mine is more of a learned art form than an innate talent:D

In Texas they denied someone's "LVTOFU" vanity plate. Can you decipher what it means? Hint: The person who requested this plate doesn't like meat....
