Got a set of Klipsh S2 earbuds (got a year ago for $50) that sound pretty good. Good bass reproduction (but not boomy) and the highs can be a little much at times, but overall much better than most of the earbuds I've tried, and pretty much on par with my over the ear Sony's (big over the ear like 70s style).

I'll give the Beats a try but if they're not as good as my S2's they may be my nephew's Xmas present.

They are great buds for the money. I was going to get them but BB had none in stock and the S4 buds were on sale for $55.

Man, I bought a pair of Skull Candy's at Best Buy and I thought that was alot of money for ear buds! LOL It wasn't by these standards for sure. But I forget what I paid. $20 bucks maybe? But I tried to use a $5 pair in my Dinc and the static was terrible. The Skulls cleared up that problem which was good enough for me. LOL

I just happened on mine at Tigerdirect. I actually read a review on them and another Klipsch pair (the Customs I believe) that went for twice the money, and the S2's actually came out better than those in most of their tests.

I've never tried Skull Candys but I hear about them everywhere. From what I've read they're one of the best balances between performance and price. I just lucked out on my Klipsch's, they were on sale for a week and I just happened to check out TD's website while they were on sale.

LOL...supposed Rezound replacement already in the works:

HTC Edge: First Quad-Core Phone Revealed (Images)

I dunno, it kinda looks like that render we saw around when the Tbolt came out. The story was talking about the future of smartphone design. A couple of things make me wonder if it's actually real or even a Verizon phone.

First, it has capacitive buttons under the screen. If it's supposed to launch late Q1/early Q2 of 2012, I'd be surprised that it wouldn't launch with ICS, which doesn't need those buttons.

Second, it mentions a Tegra3 cpu. Now I have heard that HTC was considering Intel cpu's, but never anything on Tegra. Besides that krait cpu's (Snapdragon quadcore) should be in production around that time.

Third, it mentions HSDPA data. While it also mentions that carrier specific variants are possible, Verizon usually doesn't see those variants for a few months after, like the Tbolt after the Evo, the Rezound after the Sensation, etc.

I just baffles me that they're already looking to replace a phone before it's even launched. I just read that the Droid 4 might be launching soon, possibly even this month. The D3 is only 4 months old. While the speed of innovation is nice, I'm starting to agree with some who are saying they are launching too many phones too fast. Personally I think Verizon should launch 1 LTE & 1 3G from each OEM, & a couple physical keyboard smartphones per year. That would give OEMs more time to work out the bugs on the phones and give people a little clearer idea concerning upgrading.

In 2010 the Incredible launched in late spring, the Moto DX & D2 in summer, and the Fascinate in fall. In 2011 they kept the same schedule as far as 3G, but launched flagship LTE phones from each OEM in spring AND in fall. You gotta almost believe that the R&D and manufacturing are going to get to a point where they'll be losing money on phones because they don't have a proper sales period. With the 3G phones they have around 3 months where they're the newest on the carrier. With the LTE's they have cut that time in half to 1.5 months.

Either they need to slow down to the schedule I mentioned earlier or the carriers need to provide a way for customers to upgrade more often. Otherwise if these advancements acutally outdate a phone in less than a year and the customer is under a 2 year contract, there could be problems for carriers having to support phones that can't make use of the services they're trying to sell. Say if Verizon offers a movie service but 75% of the phones sold that year can't make use if it, that means they're potentially losing money from 75% of their smartphone subscribers. When I used 75% I mean that since around half of their customers are elegible each year and they're under a 2 year contract, that would mean 25% would be able to make use of those services.

Didn't mean for that to get so long, but I got on a roll. End rant.:)

I was in a Verizon store today and they had a dummy Rezound, I couldn't believe it was 4.3 inches at first because it seemed so narrow ( in a comfortable way) the thicknes doesn't bother at all fits in my hand almost perfectly.

This is is definitely the phone I want, my only legitimate concern is the battery life. I assume it's going to be poor, if it is as bad as the Thunderbolt is then it's a no go because any thicker would be pushing it.

HTCpedia is selling the extended battery and cover. The product details says the phone will be around 3/4" thick with the extended battery. Maybe I'm old fashioned but that still doesn't sound that bad. I'd rather have a phone in my hand than something with the thickness of a calculator.

IMO, $20 Skulls have more balanced sound than the multi X higher Beats. Not as good as S2 or S4 buds, but close enough to make people happy........

Maybe HTC should have bundled Skulls and a $200 price point ;)

I just got back from Verizon and took a look at the Razr. I queued up a 480p video and my Thunderbolt looked like a VHS tape playing next to a DVD... :( I was also shocked that the Razr was actually larger than the Thunderbolt and it feels real light yet sturdy. The side-by-side video really left me disappointed in the Thunderbolt. And I haven't looked around to see if anything is official yet, but the Verizon rep told me that he thinks the Rezound will be available on the 11th or the 14th. If the Rezound's video looks better than the Razr's then they really made quite a leap from the Thunderbolt to the Rezound. I expect the Thunderbolt to be offered for free by the time the Razr and the Rezound are offered. The video was THAT much better on the Razr.

The Thunderbolt only has a resolution of 800 x 480 the Razr is 960 x 540

The HTC Rezound is 1280 x 720 this should blow the competition away even without Amoled.

The resolution of both was similar, after all the only video I could get to queue up on both was a 480p, but even with the Rezound having better resolution they need to also dial in some more color. The Thunderbolt's color just looked pale in comparison to the Razr. Even the rep at the Verizon store had to snicker a bit. That bastard!

I agree I love Amoled screens but I really can't decide if I had to choose a super sharp image with weaker color of a sub par image with pronounced color, I guess when it comes to reading text (something I tend to do a lot) I prefer very clean lines, so all in all I think the Rezound wins pretty easily for me over the Razr. I would love to have the Nexus but I hate not knowing when it will come out. I can't stand the Palm Pixie I'm using as a generic back up.

My Inc2 has a lot better color than my Tbolt had. I had all three together before I sent the Tbolt back (Inc1, Inc2, & Tbolt). The Incredibles looked nearly identical, with more accurate colors on the Inc2, with a SLIGHT edge on contrast for the Inc1. The Tbolt's screen looked really washed out, like it's gamma level was double or triple that of the Incredibles' screens. If you happen to go back, check out the Tbolt vs. the Inc2 and see what I mean. Although it is possible that it was only a problem with my Tbolt, but my friend's Tbolt looked worse than my Inc2 as well.

Here's hoping we see some reviews of the Rezound soon. Both Engadget and BGR have reviews of the Razr out, so with the Rezound launching 3 days later we should see something soon.

Lets hope it launches in 3 days.... I think I'm going to post in the Thunderbolt section about how pathetic it looks compared to the Razr just for chitz n giggles.....:D

So my girl used my upgrade back in june so I been holding on to her upgrade since july. She called me from the verizon store yesterday and not only had it in her head that she was gonna use that upgrade (she was all like, "did you know i have an upgrade available?") but she wanted to use it on an iPhone!!!

luckily i got there in time, she is considering switching to a smartphone and i got to work on her to go with an android (preferably my Inc when i go w/ rezound).

Needless to say there was a moment yesterday that i almost slipped into straight PANIC mode. Since she used my upgrade (on a phone she HATES) i'm not available for an upgrade till 02/13 on my line!

Not phone specific, but I just read this....

Gadgetbox - Verizon doubling 4G data allowance

I noticed this but I am wondering is the 4GB bump good for the remainder of your contract or is this a "limited time" only. Kinda like when they launched the Thunderbolt you got free hotspot feature for a couple months?

Oh! I guess if I had read that particular article I would have noticed it's as long as you have a 4G phone! Sweet!

Your G/F sounds like my sister and brother-in-law. They're both on my parents' account (don't ask) and one day my father wanted me to go with him to Verizon to recommend a cell phone for him. Get to Verizon only to be told that my father's upgrade has been used. Turns out my idiot brother-in-law lost his 4 month old phone and him and my idiot sister used my father's upgrade to get him ANOTHER new phone. My father was pissed.

On a side note, I found this....

I usually like to use an Otterbox on my phones and it adds so much bulk already and they don't make a Defender case that will fit with the extended battery.
