Just activated a few hours ago, just finished setting up/customizing a few minutes ago. First impressions are that the phone is fast, fast, FAST!!! And the screen is a thing of beauty!!! I'll post more tonightor tomorrow after putting it through its paces.

Anybody else notice the power button to be pretty flush and kinda hard to push? Not that big of a deal but was wondering if the phone was made this way or of its defect.

I suspect it was done to keep the phone 'sleek'. A have a pretty thin case on mine, even though it has a larger opening, still takes some effort to hit it.

I have about the same button on my iPod Touch I've had for a while, and it is raised just a bit. Thinking of making a very small, but custom extension for the button. Will see.

Yea, you definitely need to hit it 'just right'

The buttons are definitely a little harder to push, but I noticed that the time it takes after holding down the button to turn the phone on is really short, shorter than the Thunderbolt which actually felt almost like an eternity. I turned the phone on a couple of times while attempting to remove the battery.

Oh and I was anticipating the Otterbox posing a bigger problem with the buttons, it actually helps.

I hated this at first, but I'm getting to where I hit it first try and don't have trouble anymore.

My screen is slightly raised as well but I'm not getting any color bleed or pink keys. Even if this is some type of minor production flaw the phone is functioning perfectly and I have no issues with it so I'm happy.

See my screen appears sunk in. If I run my fingernail along the glass when I get to the edge, it catches the bezel. I assume that's what you're talking about.

As far as how I'm liking it, I'm still cautiously optimistic that I'll keep it. The battery life isn't quite as good as my Inc2. But with a larger screen there have to be some tradeoffs I guess. I've had a few odd little things happen though, like going to do a search in the browser, the Google logo on the page would distort and flicker between normal and filling the whole screen (width wise) but be half as tall. It only happened once (aftter I opened a new window it was fine), but I am still vigilant to make sure it's the phone for me.

I was actually surprised by the iBeats. While not the greatest ever, they aren't all that far behind my Klipschs. One thing they beat the Klipschs on is comfort. They seem to fit my ears better than my S2's do. While somewhat bass heavy (my EQ settings on PowerAmp weren't quite as bass heavy, but still had more than normal), the clarity seemed pretty decent. Acoustic guitar sounded clear, as did vocals (Pink Floyd, The Who, Audioslave, & AC/DC). Everyone has been saying that they'd rather skip the iBeats and get the phone for $199, but looking at Verizon's other 4G offerings that's not going to happen, at least not at launch. I'd rather pay $299 and get some free earbuds with the phone, than just get the phone. I can always sell them or give them to someone else.

It will take some getting used to the seemingly smaller view (fonts appear smaller than on a device with 800x400 resolution), but that'll just take some time.

I held a Razr in a Radioshack (dummy model) and really didn't like the feel in the hand. One of the reasons I didn't like the Thunderbolt was the width of the device for one-handed operation, but at least with the added depth it felt ok in the hand. The Razr kinda stretched my hand while just holding it, nevermind trying to use it one handed. So on that note, I feel good about going with the Rezound.

After seeing the stuff on the Nexus today, I can't say I'm really wowed by it either. And after reading P3Droid's review of it (VZW tester from twitter), it's battery life kinda worries me, since it's battery is only 230mAh larger (about 1.5-2.5 hours). Plus I'm betting that any extended battery for the Nexus will look like the Tbolt (hump right in the middle with no sloping to make it look decent). At least the Rezound's looks like some thought was put into how it would look on the phone.

Sadly, it was made that way. same with the volume rocker.

Yea I don't mind it that much. Getting used to it. Definitely not a deal breaker since everything else about the phone is second to none. :D

1. I may have missed it but has anyone done a comparison of the display in the SUN between the Rezound and the AMOLED (only) Incredible?

Has anyone been able to test it on a sunny day? If so, how is it?!

I'm still considering this phone.

2. Has anyone noticed a drastic improvement in actual audio quality and if so do you still get that great quality through the speakers or with different headphones other than the beats. I noticed when you plug in the beats headphones it activates the beats software? Why not all headphones?

+Thanks in advance

Just finished getting my new Rezound set up (had knee surgery this morning, so I'm recliner bound and figured today was a good day to get my phone since I can't do anything else constructive).

Initial thoughts: WOW! That seems to say it all. Amazing screen and responsiveness.

The one thing I can't get over, just coming from the OG Incredible... 4G is crazy fast! Verizon just lit up LTE in our area yesterday so maybe this will change, but right now I'm more than pleasantly surprised with the speed. I'm posting this on my laptop connected to my Rezound via Mobile Hotspot, and the speedtests I ran are showing about 13Mbps down and close to 8Mbps up. Now I see what the excitement over 4G is about.

No idea on headphones but comparing the displays makes the Inc look like a Flintstones era rock tablet display... havn't had them outside to compare in sunlight though i cant see the Inc even holding a candle to the Rezound in this regard either: in sun SLCD>Amoled

I wish I had 4G available inside my house (as soon as I walk outside, 4G) because downloading torrents on my phone would be much easier. A 30 minute video downloaded in about 10-15 minutes is pretty slick.

Hey! Watch them torrents! It is folks like you that will get us throttled like 3G users already are ;)

Bah, it is going to happen anyway, so have fun while you can :)

That is such BS...imagine a Corvette or Porsche being throttled by the manufacturer to 60 MPH to save...gas??? If you're not meeting our advertised minimum, fererally mandated MPG, we will throttle performance so you will!?!? Car enthusiasts would freak...sales would plummet...car makers out of business. People just plain wouldn't stand for it. Why do phone buyers? If a company builds out something (a network in this case), and promises certain ammenities, they should deliver....but NOOOOOO, the general buying public just bends over and takes it up the pooper by the Big Red machine (see what I did there? :D)

Anyway, may not be best comparison, but the point is made. It just pisses me off thinking about it (and I don't even use torrents)

So, with the update of SwiftKey yesterday, one of my main complaints about this phone has gone away. The predictions now correctly fit in the their proper areas and the font has been adjusted.

I know what you mean. I was only going use my loyalty upgrade to get this phone IF I was able to keep my unlimited data plan. I was able to. However, this probably won't mean much in a year when verizon beings throttling 4G users (my theory, of course). With my luck, it'll happen just as netflix allows streaming of HD content on our phones :(

Okay, just realized I royally screwed up and somehow didn't grandfather my unlimited data. I never used that much . . . but with the Eris I was so limited. I should be fine with 4gb but still . . . totally shot myself in the foot.

I went by the corporate store today to check out the Rezound and Razr. It was amazing. I really am hoping they will let me upgrade a month early. Otherwise, it's going to be a long month.

I hope they will come through for you but.. if all else fails... it's definitely worth the wait.

Although in that month's time, you'll probably hear about the quad-core phones and he'll have to decide if he wants a phone that's 1 month old....

No doubt you are correct. There is always something "better" just around the corner. However, getting the Rezound a month off of launch is not going to put anyone far behind the leading edge in my opinion. It will not be top dog long.. no device can hold on for long.. but it will be a buying consideration for some time.

LOL. I try not to obsess over that. I also can't imagine how much faster a phone can be than the Rezound. Honestly, if it weren't for the stupid low space issue on the Incredible, I wouldn't be in any kind of hurry to upgrade anyway.

I will be content with the Rezound for the next couple years I believe. Unless they start doing ridiculously cool stuff with NFC.

I'm pretty sure this phone will also satisfy me needs for quite some time. I remember getting a bit bored of the DX about 8 months after getting it but then came gingerbread and honesty it felt like a new phone. Who knew a software upgrade would have such a profound impact on useability. Then the DX got CM and miui. That's probably how I'll feel once ICS drops on the rezound. If I do end up getting a new phone before my contract is up it will be out of choice not need.

I called them last week to see about upgrading early. My official NE2 date is 12/29. I had an entire sob story lined up about how I'm having issues with my Incredible and don't want to pay $90 or whatever to get a replacement, and didn't even need it. He said absolutely. I wasn't sure as to what phone I wanted yet (probably waiting for the Nexus, but want to look at the Razr & Rezound first) so he made a note in my account stating the upgrade has been offered early. The only difference is I won't get the $30(?) loyalty discount, but I can buy any phone at contract price.
