I think it's weird that some of you guys with 1-2 month left for your NE2 are getting so much pushback. I bought my Thunderbolt the day it released, and while I've had all sorts of headaches with my Thunderbolt (I even had them cancel my voice plan at one point by mistake when I went back to my old TP2 which proved to be another headache) they were decent enough to upgrade me to a new phone. Granted I hate that I spent $300 on the bolt when it came out and now I'm back in another 2 year contract and another $300 lighter. I'd keep bugging them and if your phone is problematic and under warranty, make them send you a refurb.

The key is to find some leverage against big red. Hell go to AT&T, Sprint, T-mobile and tell them that you have a couple of months until your contract expires and if they offer any early termination fee credits if you leave your current provider. Sprint offered me $200 in credit if I left Verizon and I told Verizon back in the spring (I really didn't have any intentions of leaving Verizon because Sprint's 4G is laughable at best). They had no problem offering me an upgrade if I remained with them.

Played with the Rezound for about a half hour this morning. Beautiful screen and nice, nice fit in the hand. I'm really a sucker for htc devices. Yeah Sense is a battery drainer but no other brand competes with the weather app, lol. I may just op for this over the Nexus....

so I have been a lurker here for a few days to try and get a feel for what you guys think of the rezound...

I have been waiting for the Nexus for sometime now but there are few thing that I don't like about it that have always kept me on the fence between it and the rezound (the Razr's screen quality is a deal breaker for me). Plus at my local verizon store, that Rezound feels great in my hands.. My thought process:

-Nexus Cons:
1. no sd card slot
2. samsung build quality
3. no hdmi out (same as Rezound)
4. 5mp camera
5. 16GB storage limit (maybe 32GB)

-Rezound Cons:
1. thicker
2. sense 3.5
3. no dedeicated hdmi out (same as Nexus)
4. smaller battery
5. slower OS upgrades

I hoping you guys as rezound owner's can shed some light on my dilema for me. What's the lesser of two evils here? I may have an upgrade available in February or march, so whatever I choose I could always sell and go a different direction.

I guess my problem is that no matter which one I choose, I will feel like I am missing out on something. Both are great choices..

What do you guys think?

Someone else already mentioned it, and a guide PMed me some more information but ICS won't have Flash support I was told because Adobe isn't supporting mobile flash anymore. It will be interesting to see how Google proceeds with ICS now that they won't have native access to flash. I bet iPhone users around the world are laughing at the Nexus.....

Yeah, I love the weather app. The animations are great. I've even been using the weather lock screen because the animations are so smooth when I turn my phone on.

I think it all comes down to which of the factors you noted above are most important to you. The 16gig of internal memory would have been a huge deal breaker. The 5mp camera isn't since it's still supposed to take great pics regardless. Slower upgrades I can live with as long as there is a good development community that comes out with custom roms, which I have faith will be the case. And thickness should be a none issue if you already think the rezound feels great in your hand. Also, I actually like sense. Never had an HTC phone before so it's new and refreshing to me.

Good luck with your decision. I hope you like whatever you end up going with.

One correction; so far the reviews from the European device indicates the camera APP in ics is great; but the camera itself is subpar.

Also rumors are now that verizon version of the phone will have 16GB and bigger battery.

For a while I've been dead set on the razr; but now I'm leaning towards the rezound. I just wish it was visible outside.

I just scanned the user manual for those words, and nothing came up.

Hello ladies and gentlemen. Just wanted to congratulate you all on a great purchase. I'm a RAZR owner but just wanted drop by and say enjoy your new device. It's pretty awesome. I played with it for a bit at Verizon and really enjoyed my time on it.

I can finally say it's a great time to be a Verizon customer lol

Enjoy!!!!!!

edit: btw, I gave it a thumbs up :)

This is the kind of classy post that makes me happy to be a member of androidforums.com. You enjoy your device too, dude :)

I noticed no FM radio app. I thought someone indicated that the Rezound had an FM app, although IIRC maybe they mentioned the hardware is there. Maybe I'll try downloading an FM app or installing it from my Thunderbolt.....

I love the better resolution of the Rezound (just activated it a few hours ago). It does feel just a little snappier than the Thunderbolt. I need to find some 720p content though!

Look at HTC Watch. It is included in your pre-installed apps under "Watch". The video quality is amazing. Just look at the previews, I am very happy with the screen.

Anyone know why Verizon removed HTC Hub and that other HTC program from the phone? Just curious as I heard you could get free movies, apps, and wallpapers from it.

It probably wasn't compatible with the Rezound and instead of tweaking it, they just omitted it. I did like having access to extra skins and extra ringtones. I should try to pull it in from my backups but I imagine it'll spit out an error message saying it doesn't like my phone....

Use Launcher Pro and no Sense overhead :)

I know I will avoid ICS, since per my IT folks and my own reading up on HTML5 adoption, we are about two years from wide adoption and transition for current Flash sites. Even then it will not be close to 100%.

Rezound has HDMI out, but need a special adapter so you can output, plus be able to charge at same time. You will need to be able to charge when using HDMI beyond a few minutes.

Fortunately, the MHL HDMI adapter isn't very expensive. You can get one for $30, maybe less if you look hard enough. I really thought they'd run $50+, probably being conditioned from all my years of overpaying for plug, cables and adapters.

lol, 2 years from HTML5 adoption sounds much better than the boat I'm in. My company still has a server that requires me to manually adjust for DST. And we're still stick on Windows XP as the standard...

Wasn't sure where to post this, so I will throw it in here...

I noticed on the Sensation XL, they have a smaller version of the Weather/Clock. Do we have that ability? I would really love having 3 rows of apps on my main page including the Weather Clock.

Here is a link to reference what I am talking about.

Yes we do. That is just a smaller version of the sense widget. Remove yours, then go to 'add new widget' and you get several clock widget options. The one shown in that pic is just a smaller one, probably without the animations

Yeah, I remember seeing this too. In fact, the smaller clock widget was one of the first things I looked for, but sadly, we don't have it. Probably will be available with custom roms. I think it was already ported to other HTC phones on xda. Will wait patiently for it.
