Because they go thru the USB for the sound, guess what? the phone (if plugged in to the car adapter) did not charge enough to keep up with the screen being on, using Navigate, and streaming Pandora. After about an hour on the road, my battery was close to 25% battery life... It even showed the icon as being plugged in, and nada. Their car mount design was horrible, they should have had it go thru the 3.5mm headphone jack.

Also I hated how the stock phone is FORCED to use VZNavigate and Bing Maps in the "Car Mode". Tell you the truth I sent my phone back to verizon, my wife doesn't use hers in the car, so we kept hers.

I'll stick with my Droid X, Much better phone if you like using it in the car...

I found this and its great, your dont ahve to use the Verizon nav with this one. Best car dock app I have seen by far, should work on the Droid X too

Haha yeah it did. If it wasn't for sites like these, I'd have no idea that there were updates even coming out! LOL. So I just sit back & enjoy my Fascinate for what it is right now. It's an amazing device right now. There isn't another one out there that caught my attention as much as my white Samsung Fascinate w/ 2.1! Although I'm nervous about the screen burn in issue ppl have been having. That would suck!
 
Can't say if its verizon or Samy jerking us around. All the other phones simlar to fascinate are updated. So is it VZ, not much we can do aways VZ is still one of the best networks. And I'm sure for all of us this will be our last samsung phone, for me I'm going to pony up for a motorla bionic when it comes out. So thanks samsung for wasting my money, might buy a tv but I think thats all you can make thats quality.

I actually love my SF....but I would like the newest bestus thing on my stupendous SF...lol. I like the idea of a little more speed, apps to sd, etc.

I have had my SF since early October 2010 and mine has no screen problems...but a friend of mine had some damage to the screen from too much pressure which caused a kinda round shadow on the screen.

Just got off the phone with a VZW rep. As expected, there is nothing official in the works. Froyo is not due to be released to us non-rooted folks tomorrow. :(
 
I finally flashed the stock EB01 leak to my phone today. I am a little impatient... I'll probably unroot when the official OTA pops up though.

you mean "if" it ever pops up! ROFL I have so much doubt at this point. But since I'm home (looking for a job...ugh), this is the only thing to look forward to! LOL
