Don't even begin to sweat it, you're among friends. ;)

I'll tell you something, the older phones were only spec'd to SDHC, topping out at 32 GB, but we're finding them handle 64 GB, and that's SDXC territory, and Lexar is popping off 128 GB cards at retail as we speak, so who knows??

Secure Digital - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

You keep those ideas coming! :)

Really? I trust lexar cards. Maybe i'll take a shot.

I am interested in what audio codec is being used in the videos. It would be nice if they finally stepped up from AMR mono.

Do you get a choice of video codecs? Mp4? Other?

Is the container file still .3gp?

I like 480p. Typically, as you reduce resolution, you get a better chance at a higher frame rate. :)

PS - in Elixir2 under sensors, tap the triangle rather than the sensor name and you can see if that sensor is really responding.

No pressure or temperature sensors, right?

AAC audio! Catfish are jumping! :)

It's been a while since I've checked, but I vaguely remember that HTC finally got around to adding Stereo AAC to the Evo3D right? (god the 8 Khz AMR mono in the OG HTC Evo 4G was so atrocious I still shudder to think about it)

Guess I'll look for some apps and wallpapers for my soon to be new phone. What size wallpapers should I be looking for?

He is referring to the page that has been there since the phone was announced. How one of the writers on Engadget missed that, I do not know. But it still says "notify me" Pre-order is still May 7th.

Ok, I guess I missed it too, my apology.

According to this thread (in the one-x forums):
http://androidforums.com/htc-one-x/527097-720p-hd-wallpapers-our-phones.html

It's 1440X1280. I had to re-create a lot of my EVO wallpapers to fit properly on the MoPho, so I guess I'll have to start re-creating them again to work with LTEvo or the MoPhoQ.

1440 x 1280 must be because of the re-dux of the scrolling wallpaper that shifts left or right when you scroll through your homescreens?

Where's Freeza?
My finger is itching to use the thanks button on another one of his amazing wallpaper dumps. ;) I'm almost counting on it - unless he is too busy developing.
The wallpapers offered on this link you gave are very similar and would make good additions to Freeza's collection (some are duplicated I just know it).

I'm getting kind of excited to see/get El tevo......but I really like the display of my MoPho. I work outside and the screen is really good for looking at the screen in bright light. Does anyone know how the El tevo will compare?

On a side note....has anyone here ever used the Best Buy "buy back" program before? They told me on Sunday, when i was there, that they will give me $280.00 for my MoPho. So when I buy the El tevo, I will get the difference back in Best Buy gift cards.

I'm not sure if the screens are identical, but if you crank the brightness on the One X to about 75%, the screen is pretty visible when outside.

Best Buy "buy back" program actually has to be purchased when first buying your phone/device. I purchased it for my Photon and my Flyer. Thing is, I may end up keeping my Photon, just to use for international calls and be a dedicated music player in the car. But if the MoPhoQ (upcoming replacement for the MoPho) ends up being that much better AND is an international phone, just like the current MoPho, I may just take advantage of the "buy back" program that I purchased.

Well I got a chance to stop by and check out the One X earlier today, and my first impressions are that the screen is beautiful, and that's an understatement. All the hype about the One X's screen is well deserved, as it is the best screen that I have ever seen on a mobile device. As for other notes, the camera UI is pretty nice(Although I would prefer a switch camera button on screen. Why the heck does HTC have to remove features?). It's extremely light and thin, which would could definitely expect from the EVOLTE as it's only 4 grams heavier. Web browsing is really FUN, and everything was very fluent and FAST. Overall, I'm extremely pleased with the device and the EVOLTE should only be that much sweeter.

Of course you know, I think that no matter how many times I hear that, I will just have to see the screen for myself.

Not that I don't believe you (great report btw) - it's just one of those things that I can't explain.

Please don't taze me bro! :D

One thing I've been looking out for, but haven't seen yet is whether HTC will be employing the same "optical lamination" process with their screens on the LTEvo as with the One X. It's something frequently cited in discussions of the One X in terms of getting the quality of the screen as high as they did.

...And having owned the Evo 4G and Evo 3D, I know one of the biggest problems of HTC's prior screen process: dust has made its way into the screen gaps of both devices.

I think it's a fair assumption that the LTEvo will have an optically laminated glass/display, but I don't know if it's a foregone conclusion. Has anyone else seen otherwise?

Can anyone vouch for the credibility of that youtube user? He posts all these "hands on video tests," but provides no real evidence of owning the phones. I just want to be sure what I'm looking at is legitimate.

He/She did post 3 other sample videos from the EVO 4G LTE, but I don't know if they're "legit."

Brilliant! I hadn't heard about the optical lamination process for the One X screen, but I DID notice in a recent One X hands on video that the screen reflects and refracts light with a rainbowy glint to it (probably sun light or natural light). I thought it was extremely curious but didn't look into it. Now that you mention it, it seems almost obvious that it probably has something to do with the laminating process that makes the glass more "optical" and reflect differently? Hopefully connecting the dots is not an error on my part.

Haven't read it anywhere in regards to the Evo. I wonder if we can look at some of the Evo LTE first look hands on videos and see if there is a rainbowy reflection to the screen? (too bad most of them are indoors or in low light - also final production units could always be different than promo handsets...)

I hope this subtle feature is not left off the Evo 4G LTE.

I paid for the buy back program when i purchased my MoPho, so I'm good there. :)

Now that you mention it it seems obvious that it probably has something to do with the laminating process that makes the glass more "optical" and reflect differently.

From what I understand, historically for regular LCD displays, there has been some gap between the display itself and the glass. This is best illustrated by the dust migrating into the phone getting trapped between the display and the glass (the Evo 4G had it the worst, the Evo 3D was a bit better). Or also illustrated in this comparison between versions of the ASUS Transformer Prime or this site.

Apparently, on the HTC One X, they've removed the gap altogether and laminated the LCD display directly to the glass.

This improves viewing angles, brightness, increases outside visibility, and reduces glare -- byproducts of the internal reflections/refractions from the air gap. It also has the byproduct of making the image appear like it's right at the surface of the device, or in the words of one review, "the high definition pixel matrix seems to skim across the face of the phone."

Optical lamination of the display to the glass is supposedly featured on the iPhone 4 and is one of the reasons credited with why the display looks so darn good (pixel density notwithstanding).

There is no question that we want this on the HTC Evo 4G LTE! :)
