Sprint Community: HTC EVO 4G LTE - DELAY

HTC shared this statement regarding the HTC EVO 4G LTE:
“The US availability of HTC One X and HTC EVO 4G LTE has been delayed due to a standard U.S. Customs review of shipments that is required after an ITC exclusion order. We believe we are in compliance with the ruling and HTC is working closely with Customs to secure approval. HTC One X and HTC EVO 4G LTE have both received enthusiastic support and we appreciate customers patience as we work to get these products into their hands as soon as possible.”

Here's Information from Sprint:

  • HTC EVO 4G LTE availability
The U.S. availability of the HTC EVO 4G LTE has been delayed. HTC is working to resolve this issue and appreciates your patience as they work to get products into Sprint channels. We can’t provide specific timing for product availability at this time and we appreciate your patience as HTC works to get products on store shelves as soon as possible.

  • Pre-order status/availability
Delivery of products for pre-order are on hold and Sprint will provide a ship date as soon as possible. Sprint will maintain the promise for the preorder customers that they will be among the first to receive their HTC EVO 4G LTE units.

Cancellation procedure update - We have been notified that the previously communicated cancellation procedure is no longer available for the HTC EVO 4G LTE pre-orders. If you wish to cancel, please either refuse delivery or call us for return authorization kit once your device arrives.

No idea how current that is.

Is there any way for US to all join in and voice our thoughts and opinions on one giant petition?

Also if we get enough voices in on this maybe we could direct the link to itc oh wait that violates apples patent oh well... Well if we send the itc a nice professional email showing our concern as American citizens and send them the HYPER LINK TO THE EMAIL maybe they will take a hint !! Not likely but It's worth a shot ya know? :-)

"...when you specify an email address for your target, each time a supporter signs your petition, an email is automatically sent directly to that person. Governments, companies and individuals value their reputations and feel accountable to their neighbors, constituents and customers. When hundreds or even thousands of emails arrive in their inboxes, the message is very hard to ignore. "

Someone could try and get into contact with Minnesota State Senator Al Franken. He went up to bat during the Carrier IQ issue. He has also been interested in other Smart Phone litigation's. Just an idea.

Like I said if we all voice our opinions in 1 giant petition and then we e mail that petition using a "hyper link" lol :-) to direct the ITC, and any political figure we can contact maybe our voice and thoughts in numbers will make them realise how much reform our system truly needs!!!!

Focus.

Go to the US Senate and the House of Representatives.

Not the ITC, not anyone you can think of - they don't make our laws.

BTW, this has been posted already, but here are some of the details on the patent in question - and how bogus it truly is -

If I'm not mistaken I think once I start the petition, it will let you sign it and write what you like!

on another note, i really need a new phone. my OG evo just had a hickup... the phone app "stopped responding" while i was on a call....... asked me to force close android.phone lmao

I feel your pain :) My OG EVO is still running on the original Red Battery it came with (Powered by Pixie Dust) still every canceled order of a LTEVO is a check mark in the win column for Apple. My OG EVO hasn't given up nor will "I" Days, weeks, months, I flip my OG EVO's kickstand in the face of Apple. "We shall ever come, LTEVO will come :D " Excuse me while turn on some WiMax goodness :) and enjoy "The Original Unlimited 4G" "We Shall Over Come"

Hey, on the bright side! Just means when we get our LTEVO's. We will be that much closer to LTE launch right! Just looking for positives here! :)
"We shall over come, LTEVO's will come, Apple will be destroyed" Sing along! :D Better than koombaya!

I'm still walking into BB Friday morning. Saying "Whaa? I was told to be here!"

He went up to bat during the Carrier IQ issue. He has also been interested in other Smart Phone litigation's. Just an idea.

the contact part is the easy part. we just need to agree on an email that we all can send as step one IMO. if that part is successful and significant we can hit phase two which could possibly be more direct contactbof some sort...but he seems like he could be "the guy"

I just read this and i had a weird feeling that i kept to myself but in this page it says that " the phones have already been stuck in customs for 1 MONTH" I had a feeling HTC/Sprint wouldn't dare wait until the last minute so I'm glad to know that Sprint and HTC tried to avoid this by pushing the devices through atleast 1month in advance :-) :-) so like i said before I will be sticking with my EVO 4g LTE and sprint :-) :-) I just am leary on how I feel about the word "indefinitely" being used by the ITC on the possible ban of these devices if they violate that pathetic excuse of a patent !!!!

And now that I think about it that link to that website earlymon posted which I made a reference to above that site says that the phones have been in customs over a month, but it also says that some stores have devices already in stock(grain of salt but hey) :-) so if some stores do have devices in stock if you go back a month from today for instance that would be April 16th, that horrible excuse for a patent did not go into effect until April 19th so is it possible Sprint and HTC thought ahead and got as many devices as possible through before this "undeserved patent" went into effect? :-)

I was just told by a sprint representative that the shipments will arrive at their warehouse this afternoon and that it will take about three more business days for them to ship. They will announce this info publicly soon via emails and give us shipping confirmation as I told them my og evo (one of three) does not charge and my money was paid last week via pre order direct from sprint on the seventh. They took my payment out of the account last thursday.

*reads the posts about contacting Congress and such*

Honestly, we need to start a kickstarter fund to pay for someone to go and petition the USPTO for an invalidation this stupid patent ;)

You are right, contact is the easy part. When it comes to petitions, movements, etc... the best form of contact is phone calls. Phone calls en masse to a representative office gets the most attention.

a suggestion from the petition site is to focus on something kind of specific. in our case it seems that would be "data tapping". the petition should perhaps say something along the lines of "we would like to ....data tapping.....". I need help wording it correctly to communicate our objective. earlymon, neoterix, marctronixx, can you assist???

I did call my local local representatives this morning here in Washington State. She asked what was this all about? I guess they have been getting calls already :p and pretty fed up on the nonsense. I guess one of the shipments is being held up in Seattle, Wa. and said they are already in talks with Port of Seattle customs office. Woot, for EVO'tees. Not content to stop there. I went to Whitehouse.gov. and claimed shenanigans on their site as well. Since Obama is a bit of a techie who knows. "We Shall Over.Come"
 ROFL

I really hope your not pumping my chain full of salt my friend but in the mean time It's some food for thought so if this holds true I say thank you sir :-) and if this holds to be questionable well atleast you lightened the mood :-)

ok so let's do both. email and call. we can send the email and call and read the email like a script. start a thread as a check in for those that have done both or one or the other

Hmm, my spidey sense wonders if even best buy knew about the customs thing well before the pre orders took place, and just sided on caution and just chose to do a pre order with no money down just in case the customs thing hit a snag..? ;)

Then to sweeten the pot, they give you 50 bucks for the pre order?

Possible....

From Inside Sprint Now (http://insidesprintnow.wordpress.com/2012/05/16/update-htc-evo-4g-lte-delayed-launch-status/):

As you know, over the past 24 hours we’ve been posting on the delayed launch of the HTC EVO 4G LTE.

as of 4:45PM, we are able to report:

‘Pick and Pack’ has now been completed on ALL pre-orders, therefore cancellation of orders is no longer possible.

HTC has a judicial hearing scheduled this week, and we should have clearance to ship shortly thereafter.

Unofficially, we should be shipping no later than the first of next week, likely sooner.
This is a very fluid situation, and we’ll be updating throughout the evening as more is learned. Obviously a date can’t be confirmed until the judicial review, however, internally the anticipation is a very quick resolution.

I'm pretty upset with Sprint right now. They debited my account for the amount of the phone which has not obviously been shipped. I pretty much think it's Visa policy that a company cant bill your account unless they have submitted shipping information. Could be wrong though but I thought I read on this forum in the past about this.

Either way they have my money...I have nothing. That part upsets me.

Not to derail the topic but Al Franken has been a pretty damned good Senator since getting voted in. I'd be much more embarrassed about Michele Bachman.
