[Official] Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE Pre-release thread - Sprint official launch is Saturday, June 2

If you click on it it says as of now but "subject to change" which leads me to believe they are simply basing that on rumors as well but I hope not.

S4GRU is claiming June 10th again based on internal documentation from product development.

S4GRU June 10th launch for EVO LTE
This is interesting; the reason cited is:

"LTE device connectivity in lab testing continues to be problematic due to under defined processes and complications around provisioning and SIM UICC profiles. Escalation of this issue is in progress."

Frankly, since LTE has barely been launched on the Sprint network, I'm of the mindset that they should just ship the device and then sort out LTE provisioning issues via subsequent software update... but then again I just want the LTEvo in my grubby little mitts. ;)

Here's to irrationally hoping that this Mid-May release date is accurate.

Wirefly terms and conditions including our equipment discount policy

INSTANT SAVINGS DISCOUNTS
Wirefly promises you savings in the form of instant discounts with no rebates or gimmicks when you sign up for wireless carrier service on a 2 year agreement. Delivering on this promise means that you must agree to maintain your agreement for a minimum of 6 months after activation. Deactivating your phone, or downgrading features or the rate plan, may lead to additional charges.

To provide you with significant savings vs. buying in a retail store, the price you paid for your device includes an Instant Savings Discount from Wirefly.

By accepting this Instant Savings Discount, you agree to repay $200 of this discount ($400 for smartphones, tablets, and netbooks) and authorize us to charge your credit card in repayment of this amount if, you signed up for a 2 year agreement and during the 181 days after your new equipment is activated, your wireless carrier notifies us that the services you purchased have been suspended, disconnected, or deactivated, or if you return your purchase outside of the return and exchange provisions of our Satisfaction Guarantee.

Please note some of the reasons your wireless carrier may notify us of a deactivation include if:

You transfer this equipment to another carrier line of service after it is activated

You change your rate plan to a lower monthly service rate than was specifically required at the point of purchase

You deactivate texting/data features that were specifically required at the point of purchase

The new line of service activated with your order is used to replace a pre-existing account

You can preorder this beast on Wirefly for $149.99 right now. That price is for both new lines and extensions. Ships May 18th.

Wooo... I did the preorder and got in 3-4 minutes before the official starting time. I also had something in the mail from Sprint and get a $50 Visa gift card.

^That must be the message for online orders?

For completeness' sake here is what my order page is reading. (I had to go the Tele-sales route because there was a hang up with my account online. Tele-sales didn't give me any hassle at all. Kinda weird.)

Status: Your order or a portion of your order is in backorder status. If you would like to select an alternate product or cancel your backordered item, please call 866-789-8292 between 8:00 a.m. EST to 11:00 p.m. EST Monday to Friday or 9:00 a.m. EST to 9:00 p.m. EST on Saturdays and Sundays. Please note that cancellation requests may not always process successfully due to the speed of warehouse processing. If you cancelled your backordered item but still received a shipment, please refuse the shipment or call us to process a return within 14 days of receipt.

Man, so jealous. I called Sprint today because my upgrade is due June 1st. I figured no big deal because i know sprint can move it 30 days earlier. Which they said if i wanted to buy a current phone, i could now and get full upgrade, but since its a pre order the system won't reflect it regardless.

Sprint just called me to update my number port request. I asked about availability and was told that the phone was in stock, in the warehouse and would be shipped within 3-5 days. I asked him to verify it was in stock and was accurate about shipment. He disappeared, supossedly spoke to a manager, and verified what he told me.

really!!! is there a loophole here?

the product is in stock in the warehouse..
but the release date is May 18th...
but if you port a number.. the port requires that you have your phone.. so it ships early??????

I ordered online and at first this is the message I was showing in my order status. About an hour later when I looked again I had the May15th message so it just takes a minute in their system to update but you should be seeing that soon.

I doubt it. I think Tele-sales may just be out of the loop. The gal I spoke with said it was in stock and the phone would ship in 2-5 days for sure, I had her verify this info too. My current order status says otherwise. Earlier in the call she also told me that the Evo 4G LTE has a 4.7" SAMOLED screen...

Thanks.
My order went through at around 8:20 AM CST. Still the same.

I think the Pre-orders will get theirs by the 18th.

Stores might have them around that time or a little later.

This phone is coming out in May there is no doubt.

SIII is lined up for end of June release and I have a feeling Sprint will push the SIII hard, much harder then the EVO. So Sprint needs this phone out ASAP and they need as many sold as possible until the end of June.

Just placed my order online through Sprint. I'm so excited and anxious!
But why am I so nervous?

Edit: Oh yeah, now I remember. The last time I ordered a phone from sprint it was a Samsung Moment. The phone, and Sprint, gave me so much hell that it's affecting me 2.5 years later. Great, now I'm chewing my nails

What's everyone doing that has an upgrade eligibility date of 6/1? I just called Sprint customer service and was told that they weren't processing early upgrades until the morning of the 19th.

Went to the Sprint store in Merriam Kansas after 10:00 am central and they said I was their first pre-order and he said my phone will be in next Friday, not sure if he meant this coming one or not??

Sprint doesn't add the payments to your bill anymore. Ugh .deal breaker for me as I did not want to pay $200 plus today.

I'm a free agent. Maybe another company will allow me to do this.
