Yep I just got that email myself from sprint but I'm a little confused still as to why best buy's email is stating the 23rd and sprints isn't stating any date for that matter? 3rd party retailers can't launch a device before first party retailers can they? :(

At least sprint has finally made some official announcements to their customers. Sure, they may be late on saying it, but at least they made a statement. So to all those people complaining about sprint not saying anything, SHUT IT! :D

I also just got the same E-mail. I was one of the people that had mentioned Sprint not sending out any kind of notice a couple days ago but in looking at the entire situation I imagine that making the announcement when they were positive of what's going on makes sense. They made it before the "official launch day" so that covers people that dont read the forums and explains what's going on before a flood of angry calls about it not arriving.

I also like that they included a link to the Sprint Community page so people can get updates.

We were all just full of adrenaline and impatience when we heard the original news about crapple and htc. At least the cogs are slowly turning and we have hopeful news now.

Yes it's nice to see them finally communicating but a date would have sweetened the deal.

Well according to best buy the date is May 23rd ?! :-) :-) lol and also I saw on a website sg4ru or something that a state has court ordered apple and HTC so come to a court settlement with this whole crap August 28,2012 so hopefully that will prevent this crap from happening again :-) :-)

I live in Louisville Kentucky where the warehouse is and a UPS hub. I wonder if the phones really are at the warehouse and if my best buy could get them early. My Best Buy email said the 23rd.

I got the same email from Sprint tonight. My guess would be that until the shipment totally clears customs they can't be sure of a date, giving a date before they know for sure will just make more people unhappy so it doesn't bother me that they didn't give one. I'm not all hyped up like some people are about this ;) - I just got on the bandwagon for this new phone a few days ago and I'm an extremely patient person.

I personally think it's a little comical how upset some people are getting over the delay (not necessarily anyone on this forum, I've been reading stuff from all over the last few days). "When I was a kid..." there were no cell phones (or if there were I sure hadn't heard about them) and now people can't live without one - so much so that some have already cancelled their pre-order when at this point nobody really even knows for sure if the delay will just be a couple days. It truly boggles the mind..... I love technology and I love my phone and my other toys but I try to see both sides and I also try not to rely so heavily on my devices that I can't live without them.

Now before anyone says "yeah but I need mine for work.. or mine is on it's last leg.... yadda yadda yadda" that's cool, I get it - and I don't fault anyone for getting upset no matter their reasons, but I do think it's a little funny. I'm anxiously waiting for my phone and unless it gets delayed for weeks I'll continue waiting. There are other things in life that are more worth getting upset about. The phone will arrive or it won't, and sprint/htc/apple will fight it out this time, but next month/year/etc there will be a new phone or something to get upset about. For me, this just isn't worth getting angry... at all. Maybe it's the mom in me, I always knew when to pick my battles with my kids - but sometimes you just wait and see how it all turns out.

haha you lucky dog you!! Hell if i were you man id try my luck finding the factory and seeing if they will let you directly pick it up lol..ya never know it's worth a shot :) I went to bootcamp for the army at fort knox, ky a few year's back :) id try it if i were you my friend lol
 
No I've asked in the past if I could pick up there and was told no. But the couple times I've ordered from Sprint telesales my phone has come quick. I just hope it really is the 23rd cause I am suppose to sell my 3D on Sunday.

Well as far as im concerned best buy is a pretty trustworthy source given my experience with them.. although i will be taking the 23rd with a truck full of salt but on the same token htc and sprint were late on informing us about the delay as well so this link above the argument being made here can go both way's dont forget that..if this custom's delay hasent taught us that then idk what will...but still keep a truck of salt prepared :) :) Plus given that this would be the 2nd launch date if they were to go back on this because it was never 100% and they took a 2nd shot in the dark if you will that will look REALLY REALLY BAD FOR BUSINESS AS IF THE FIRST TIME DIDNT ALREADY... I do realise and agree sprint and htc had no fault in this matter nor did any 3rd party seller's but at the end of the day the general american public doesnt look past the simple fact that there's always more then meet's the eye... but either way im praying best buy is correct and hopefully those of us who pre ordered on the 7th will recieve our devices tomorrow( friday) or saturday or monday that would be the best treat to the end of my 1 week vacation :) :) :) Back to work to arrive home with a new phone :) :) :) :) :rock::beerglass::beerglass::beerglass:
