[Official] Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE Pre-release thread - Sprint official launch is Saturday, June 2

Sprint told me once the activation fee hits your account call in there waving it for everyone that it's a promotion going on now. I asked about it again today when I called and she said yes call back when it hits your bill.

There is no way I will be getting an iPhone. If anything I would switch to Verizon and snag a Galaxy Nexus through them (actually actually get the 4G I've been promised with sprint for 2 years now).

And I don't think I'd need to refuse the shipment - Amazon sent me an email stating that if I don't sign in and approve them changing the date they themselves will cancel the order.

IMHO Sprint needs to make this right and do something for the customers - maybe waive the activation fee? Has anyone called in and complained?

Funny. I did same thing. Paid the $115 to Sprint for early upgrade (wasn't due until JUNE 30 2013). And yeah, thought same thing in regards to if it comes out next month. I will call and ask if I need to.

I also got them to waive the $36 activation once it hits by bill ( and I call ) for my 4 lines... but that was before this fiasco. I am sure it would be easier now.

But, again, for those bashing Sprint ... it really isn't their fault. This isn't like showing up for an airline or hotel and being over booked. It's a phone.

The blame blongs primarily on the U.S. Patent system, ITC, Customs and Apple.. :pound: pretty much in that order.

Oh, and FYI ... EasyEE don't like the LTEvo moniker ... just sayin'.

I got this quote from someone on another fourm about this same isssue......

"Let's just hope that Apple's iPeriod ends soon and then they can change their iPad and start playing nice again":thumb:

And if they start having hot flashes once they find out the phones can be shipped....we can send them some of these!

They should waive the 36$ fee for anyone who preordered imho... :D

How did you bring up to them that you wanted the $36 fee waived? Since I ordered mine from Amazon I fully expect them to try and screw me.

Well if you pre ordered online, Sprint is waiving the activation fee. I paid $40+ to upgrade early and they said they would charge it to the account. But because of this whole customs thing that I know it's not their fault (or is it? Insert Spanish soap opera dramatic you slept with my sister who is really your step mom music) just to see about getting that to at least half depending on when the phones are proven innocent.

I say hire the O.J. Simpson lawyers on this one.

Well they will give you a 15 dollar credit now he was due 6/2013 originally also. And they told me it's a special promotion for everyone this month about the 36 dollar fee being waved just to call back when it hits your account. I just want the phone by next week please!

I pre-ordered mine online directly from Sprint, but in the order confirmation it showed the $36 activation fee so I just called Sprint and asked if they would remove it and they did. I don't know if it mattered that I'd been with them almost 10 years or not. They basically said my account status meant I qualified to have it waived. It was easy, and that was way before this ITC debacle. It would probably be even easier now. :)

I actually called top tier support and not the regular support number, though. Here's the number I called: 1-866-727-0665. Ask for account services when they ask where to direct your call.

By the way, the refund showed up in my account in about 30 minutes after I got off the phone with them. They never said I had to wait for anything at all.

CHECK YOUR SPRINT BILL!

FYI, I was a D1 preorder, paid for with my Visa debit card, for the LTEvo (cleared my account a day or two later). I just opened my Sprint bill and in there I found NO activation fee included (this time). HOWEVER, I DO have a $213.49 charge for "HTC BAR PHONE."

IOW, they charged me twice for the LTEvo. Once in my checking account, and again on my bill. So... check your bill!

When I called top tier support to pay for early upgrade. Simply asked him. He looked at account, pay on time, 4 lines, about to upgrade all 4 for new EVO.

Just to lighten up the mood in here a little, any other fans of Futurama want to call their new phone Phone One-X (I know it's EVO LTE not HTC One-X but close enough) and wonder if you can get a wooden skin for it? Or should we keep the name quiet in chance Matt Groening finds out and orders another embargo?
