We'll get to happy and sad, while we try to find creative ways to keep the off-topic fun alive in an otherwise on-topic forum.

Seriously though, Sprint/HTC prereleases are always the best and most fun.

I want to thank everyone here for making it fun for everyone and for going so easy on staff during this whole time! :)

HTC just released the following statement to some media outlets:
Each imported HTC model must be reviewed by Customs and will be released once Customs officials have completed the inspection. Some models have gone through inspection and been released to our carrier customers. We don't have the status of each specific device model at this time, but we are working closely with Customs. We remain confident that this issue will be resolved soon.

The Evo got the attention when it hit our release, and I think that the One X did as well because inventory is drying up in places.

What's really impressive is professionalism of customs and UPS. They know what is there being held and being released but they are keeping a lid on it. And evidently no one from ATT or T-Mo cares to take a risk.

Only Sprint insiders cared enough to leak the truth. Same thing when I worked the Nexus prerelease and Verizon insiders helped.

Something about the CDMA suppliers being cooler that way springs to mind, but maybe that's just me. ;) :)

I could have this wrong, but I think what happens is the Sprint shuffle on how they show debits and credits to your account once you've ordered.

Whenever I've asked Sprint to put a phone on my bill (and I do it every time just to try) they just point and laugh. :)
 
no. sprint did away with that last year. you have to pay the cost at the time of pre order or at the time of purchase since the pre orders are frozen (last i checked sprint were not taking pre orders).

Once upon a time you could. Pretty sure I put my OG EVO on my bill, and I *know* I put my Hero on my bill. LTEvo though... they want the cold, hard cash (plastic).

Or your old device, I'm getting mine for free after trading in 2 old Verizon smartphones.
 
Ok So I called Sprint and they know nothing about phones clearing customs and they were no help at all. Then I called my Best Buy and was told if the phone start shipping this week it could take them up to 2 weeks to get there's in. I know Sprint has to send there pre orders out 1st but wouldn't they send the stores like RS & BB there's out too? I called my local Sprint store and he hadn't a clue and said he didn't have alot of preorders and he doesn't know how many phones Sprint will ship them.

So I am guessing if my Sprint store were to get there's in before BB I would just pay 199 and not worry about 50 bucks. I just need a phone now and badly. I sold my 3D last night. The guy had to have it was going out of town this week. But i have my Transformer Prime and will take it to work and check the forums on dinner break.

I called Sprint a couple days ago and the person I called seemed like he didn't even know what the evo4g lte was..let alone the fact that it had been delayed.. He was setting me up to order the evo4g... Lol
 
Well people were talking about RS not knowing my BB didn't know anything about the delay or anything I had to tell them what was going on. Then I had to tell them I got am email with a 5/23 release date which of course then they changed that. But I don't even think my BB is gonna call me. I'll just wait to get another email from BB. I 'll be checking my email all day on my tablet. LOL!

We know they have a good potion at a UPS distribution center in KY where they are held until an inspector gives the ok go ahead. Getting pre-orders to people won't be much of a problem but the ones that have to wait for a store to get stock in (like myself) might have to wait an extra day or two for them to get them in and then officially set a release date. If you ordered online you'll probably have your phone a day or maybe 2 before I do but I went with local buybacks so I don't have much of a choice.

Yeah that was me that mentioned about radio Shack I let them know too lol...... The only piece of info I ha E received from them in this whole ordeal was thru Facebook and I had to post on their wall... But they also promised that RS preorders will be among the first to receive the evo when it's in the clear

Ive been checking the "inside Sprint blog" and news.Google.com constantly waiting for some kind of update and nothing. Its noon and I would like some kind of word outside of speculation on what part of the process they are in with getting these phones out. I know about some of them being cleared through customs but "some" leaves me in the dark, still. "Some" could be just the one x, since its been available for sale and our poor evolte is still being held hostage?

I just want some clarity on what's going on today from somewhere, soon, and feel myself becoming frustrated. Not so much with the wait, just lack of info.

FYI, I preordered and paid already.

I really hope they dont make pre-orders wait until Friday. They should sell the pre-orders as soon as possible and then maybe sell the rest starting on Friday.
