[Official] Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE Pre-release thread - Sprint official launch is Saturday, June 2

So let me get this straight BB will not sell any extra phones...does pre-order count if I go in at lunch and purchase the phone? lol I strongly doubt it...but man I hope they start selling the extras tomorrow. If RS doesn't have it today I'm getting one tomorrow come hell or high water.

Exactly.. And I'm not trying to make this a ... hey do retail reps lie to you topic.. just asking if anyone got an email from BB with a status update. I find it funny I'm defending (to the other gentleman) why I was being lied to over something that is common knowledge.. LTE phones being released.. despite towers not being up...:hmmmm:

Yeah, I read your post. Excited for you, man. I just fear that unless we preordered from the same exact store, my store might get it another day.

No email yet....I was one of the first pre orders at my closest bb...Crabtree bb.

Nothing yet, as far as email goes.
 
I woke up to find that I will see my phone between 9 am and 12pm. It was scheduled to hit my doorsteps the 25th when I went to bed last night. Thank you Sprint! Also will there be a different thread once we get our phones :)

Thank goodness they did. LTEVO is a awesome phone and that is "fact". LTE across major carriers is subjective. I still get Wimax coverage in my area while ATT and Verizon get nadda for LTE love at all. subjective ;) fast or slow unlimited is the way to go for me at least :D 3G will be fine with me on Sprint. LTE is frosting on the cake :)

I haven't followed much with Sprint, but do you know for a fact you'll be in the initial rollout of LTE?

That's whassup. I live off Capital so Triangle is down the street from me. Went to the BestBuy Mobile in Triangle mall, they claimed I was the only pre-order at the time (about 5/7 mid-day). Good luck to both of us.

burgertime, I don't want to deflate your hopes, especially when you really want something but the story I got from BB is that the only phones being shipped are preorders INSTORE only at this times. If you preordered after the 20th then you will be placed on backorder. Now there a lot of people cancelling their preorders and maybe, just maybe those orders didn't go through before the phones were shipped and any left over after preorders are filled you could get one. I have seen that happen many, many times and you probably would have better luck at a Sprint Store, and I mean a corporate store as they get bigger shipments on launch day and usually have enough to cover preorders and then some.
At my store last year on the Evo 3D launch I went in with no preorder and had to wait a little while but I got one so you can never tell . Find you a good Sprint Store there in Charlotte and stick with it you'll find it comes in handy on things such as this.
 
Pre-congrats to everyone who gets their phone today!! Mine is scheduled to arrive early afternoon but today I have to work late so I won't see it until some of you have had yours for hours. I'm looking forward to reading the First Impressions thread tonight to see what's in store - while I'm opening up my own package! :D
 
I feel a moment of silence is coming :( Not only has this thread been one of the most enjoyable since OG EVO launch. This has turned out to be one of the most anticipated launch since OG EVO. Once again a reflection on the professionalism of the mods and the dedication of it's members making LTEVO's launch special for everyone. LTEVO is making its way into homes across America. I think as we all migrate to other LTEVO threads like "I've got mine, Show us your Screen Shots, All things Root" Not only will it bring a close to this thread, but a close to the original 4G device that started it all 2yrs ago. A device that was shunned for being to big. A device none the less broke every barrier when it comes to first's in a mobile device., Changed the Android community by way of a EVOulotion known as EVO, June,2010. Thank you EVO 4G, through Eclair, Froyo, and Gingerbread. You paved the way :) Revolutionary device that moved us all :thumbup:

Well the big problem is that I am going out of town tonight, so I won't be back until Monday morning. If RS gets them Friday I have to wait until Monday morning :mad:. I'm just very impatient. I try to get everything overnighted when I order online because I hate waiting. I was hoping when I head off to where I'm going a store in that town might have them and I'll just eat the $50 I paid to pre order....but it looks like I'll just be waiting. :argh: ...that is unless I found the local Sprint corporate store has some in stock :vroam:

HaHa nope I have today off and I was still up at 6:30 am like a 10 year old on Xmas morning. Something about Apple not wanting me to have it gives me phone wood. I may stay in the AC and drool on the window sill because I hate the heat but I am right there with you.
 
I would get the laptop, lots of snacks, beverages and set up a tent in the front yard.

Get balloons, clowns and maybe a pony. A quartet would set things off nicely, and maybe some fireworks...ok, the fireworks are not a maybe they're a given!!

I'm about to crawl out of my skin I'm so excited, and I'm not getting mine until tomorrow evening!! :D

I was super giddy when I got mine. Took FOREVER to activate though since they were using my wife's upgrade and the Nexus and Bionic have two different sized SIMs.

I have to chime in with you on this. A couple of weeks ago, I unrooted my OG EVO that I've had since its launch in preparation of trading it in to Best Buy for the credits. I actually had a moment. It was like saying goodbye to an old friend. The EVO 4G was my first Android phone and the first phone I actually went bananas over. It made my Blackberry 8350i seem like a rotary phone.

I'm really looking forward to my Best Buy call saying that I can pick up my LTEvo. But, I'm gonna miss the grandaddy of 'em all. :adore:
 
So, just got off the phone with my Sprint store. He said he didn't see any EVOs coming in on their manifest today, but that he's working tomorrow and they may come in then. He put me on their reserve list and said I'd get one. I hope, I hope, I hope! I guess I better get back to work... :bebored:
 
I want to try them too where did you order from? Are there different ones? I saw a video with some but it was for a sony phone I think the experia.

Edit: My Best Buy has them I get to pick it up at 1:00 and go straight to work. Yay! I can mess with it on breaks at work and I am off tomorrow so I will be up late messing with it. I just want to get my emails set up and my handcent the way I want it. And I'm sure there's alot more i'm gonna want to do. LOL! I'm excited!


I'm frustrated too. I've been calling my best buy that I pre-ordered from another in the neighborhood and the 188 # yesterday someone told my coworker they were still in customs. The 188# knows nothing my store at least said yes they should be on the ups truck today or tomorrow and we will call as soon as they get here. But no I have not gotten anymore emails from them. One person on here said they did but I have not so I'm confused. I'm ordering from Sprint from now on.

All she did was make me frustrated with BestBuy. Anyway back to my question, anyone who ordered from BestBuy actually receive any updated info in the form of an email?
