Help ***Official*** Status of your Droid X order thread

I just got a tracking number but I have a bad feeling it is for the accessories I ordered this morning and not the X I ordered last night. :(
 
heres a TN guy pulling for yall. I hope you get them numbers tonight...and them phones tomorrow.


as you know about 4 hours I called them and was able to get a tracking number....here is my time line

logged in at 11;52pm saw x on page.
got through the order process at 11:57 pm cst.
order email at 12:02am
order processed email at 7:57 AM.
called at 4:45 pm and got tracking number.
at 8:02 I got the offical email tracking info.

All I can ask is if Verizon is ALWAYS this bad on how they process orders for newly released phones? This was my first time ordering a new phone on release date, and I sweated it out until I finally got my tracking notice after 6:00 p.m. this evening.

I only recently found this site about 1 month ago after getting my Moto Droid a few months ago. Now I'm not so sure all the snide remarks I read about AT&T and the IPhone are too warranted.

Verizon has majors issues with their customer support and ordering system I have learned today. Absolutely ridiculous!!!
 
I called in at 6am this morning to place my order and have been waiting all day for an order confirmation, tracking number, or something to show up on my account page. I couldn't take it anymore and just got off the phone with a CSR who informed me that my order is still pending and likely won't ship for 1-2 weeks.

They finally shipped mine out from Memphis at 2:00 p.m. CST. This is after I ordered it at 12:03 a.m. CDT. Supposed to get here tommorow by 3 p.m.
 
FWIW to the people on this thread, I read the "official" Verizon line regarding online orders over at Android Central. The by 23rd date does not mean only "on" the 23rd. It's actually before or on.

Here's the official line from Verizon:
"This has been a very good day one for Droid X sales. Customers were in line at midnight in some markets, in other places there were lines when the stores opened and in other stores there has been a steady stream of customers. We have been successful at keeping up with early demand but at present inventory in some parts of the country inventory is either low or out. (It truly varies around the country.) Since we have weekly shipments planned, customers can still order phones and can expect them to be shipped on or before July 23.

yes they do...and you can bet I have told a bunch of them that. all the way to the top.

I freaking love the at&t store here, but that is where it ends. I go in just to see a friend there sometimes and they are always freindly to everyone regardless...but their service just doesnt reach as well as vzw and I dont like any phone they have. I hate the iphone os and the aria is just to small...so for now I will suck it up and play with vzw for a bit longer..but as soon as/if anyone gets a coverage area as good as vzw I am gone.
 
Question: how is it that some folks had to pay for shipping?? When I hit the site, "free overnight shipping" was plastered all over the pages. And sure enough, it kicked in when I placed my order, just magically appearing like the Droid X price. Only after seeing that did I enter a promo code, which reduced everything by $30 (ordered multimedia cradle/HDMI cable package).

Overnight shipping for free is available online. If you call CS, they charge you for overnight or, I think, two-day is free.

if the package is 2 pounds it probably is your phone... but if you got a tracking email just look below where it shows your phone number it will give you your order number as the reference number. either that or call cs and ask them to tell you what the tracking is for.

I just got the email from Verizon. Confirmed via FedEx website shipping out for deliver tomorrow. I'll have it in my hands by 8am (I work for FedEx). But I won't get to play with it till 11pm (work, dinner plans).

I ordered online at 2am CDT this morning. So they are still updating orders.

I stand corrected. :cool: I do remember seeing that now -- and being overly paranoid to make sure mine was automatically there.

Thanks there is still hope.

I ended up ordering online early this morning since I wanted a 1 year contract and through my employer it was was only $229.

I still haven't gotten a tracking number but maybe... just maybe... I will soon.

Funny thing is the order number that is in the tracking email is not either of my order numbers LOL. I am just soooo used to getting screwed by phone companies it isn't funny any more. Although it did take roughly 14 to 16 hours to get my tracking info. from the time I placed my order for the X online around 1ish. So maybe my accessories I ordered this morning will do the same. Funny thing is on the VZW website neither order is listed as shipped. FML :eek:

Congrats. I am still SOL on mine. I am giving up. It's almost 10 pm.
 
I finally got my tracking notice, but I learned today that Verizon is completely out of control with how they fill orders placed for their phones on release day. Folks that ordered after noon today had tracking information within an hour. Yet I had to worry and upset myself that I wouldn't get my phone on Friday after staying up until 1:00 a.m. to place my order last night. It was after 6:00 p.m. before I got my email with my tracking information.

Several years ago I worked for VZW on the team that processed Internet orders. I can tell you that there is a method to their madness... certain types of orders take priority over others. If your order is coded as overnight it'll get shipped before those that are coded as two day. And then there is the question of why some orders are submitted with two day shipping when all X orders should be shipped overnight. The answer is that it's just simply user error or lack of understanding of their systems.
 
If your on FedEx.com trying to track your shipment by reference (order) number you got with your purchase email, it doesn't work. You get a new order number with your shipment confirmation, and it doesn't work in the reference tracking either. I have a tracking number, and it shows shipped. I tried a track by reference with BOTH order numbers after I had my tracking number, and they just don't work. Just letting you know that is futile.

But keep your hopes up, it took 19.5 hours from order to shipment confirmation for me.
And we all want to buy phones from these guys?
 
I ordered mine at 1:15 AM EST in Ohio. I was freaking out because I still hadn't recieved a tracking #. I just got my email confirmation and Fedex tracking # at 7:15 PM EST!
Hooah!

My order tracking at Verizon still says " Order Status: Your order has been processed and will be shipped based on inventory availability and shipping method. You will receive shipment notification and tracking details via email." So there may still be hope for some of you guys. Mine is shipping out of Memphis.
