Help ***Official*** Status of your Droid X order thread

Should be here by 3PM today, on a truck since 7:41 this morning. The sucky part is my wife gets to open the box and charge it for me so I won't get the pleasure of ripping it open and being the first human to make contact with it (after packaging of course). Oh well, at least it should be charged and ready for action when I get home.

Verizon is clueless. If I didn't really need to be on their network due to my location, I would be probably be moving on honestly. Their ordering/inventory system just plain sucks!!! They don't even have a clue how to process orders received HOURS before later orders without it getting screwed up.

After all my excitement to order this phone, staying up until 1:00 p.m. to get it done to try to ensure I got one Friday, I never dreamed the unthinkable could happen....my phone arrive and would be a DUD!

Not one person can seem to tell me when I will get my replacement. You ask 5 folks, you get 5 different answers. CLUELESS! If things don't straighten out pretty quick with this Droid X, Verizon is going to take a hit with losing some customers. Folks are still not over the messed up HTC Incredible Droid Release. And don't want to be jerked around any longer by these folks.
 
Just got notification that my Droid X shipped.


FYI the status page still says:


Your order has been processed and will be shipped based on inventory availability and shipping method. You will receive shipment notification and tracking details via email.

I still have the generic "your order has been processed, you will be updated with tracking or back order info when/if necessary" message when i check my order status. Called vzw and was told there not shipping until 7/27 due to back orders, I politely let her know that I had placed my order on 7/16 BEFORE the vzw website was updated with such information, I was even given the option to pay for next day air (which I opted out of).

Her only reply was that they couldn't "keep up" with the online orders and that my order was defiantly confirmed, It just will not ship until 7/27. What the hell, i just spent all weekend psyching myself up for this thing, now i have to wait another week and a half :(

I ordered July 16 at 11:30 AM (needed to see a day's worth of forum posts to make sure it wasn't a lemon :)) -- vzw.com at that time stated shipping by July 23.

I think the CSRs only have the current "shipping by" date, not the "shipping by" date when we actually ordered.

Let's all be sure to post when we get a shipping notice.
 
Just got mine five mins ago. =) Like I posted before, ordered Friday around midnight and it was shipped around 10am PST. Didn't arrive until today like it said it would and it came from Ontario. I live in SF.

Wow, I dislike you, ha

how did they mess up to the point where people ordering Friday (tech Sat morning) are getting there phones before people who ordered release day ?
 
mine came in a little over an hour ago. too bad i'm stuck at work, but at least it's getting charged so i don't have to wait when i get home. i ordered it on the morning of the 15th (11:30ish), was told it would get sent by the 23rd due to backorders. next day, got an email saying it was shipped overnight for monday delivery. i live in the San Francisco area and it was shipped from Ontario.

how did that work out for you? mine is scheduled for tomorrow and i have to work literally all day :(
 
Maybe this thread should have an off-shoot: when is my X arriving?

I ordered the wee morning of 7/15 and am still without official notification from vzw about the status of my X. I'm in NYC. They told us there would not be any inventory issues, yet here we are, I still see a few of us 7/15ers still not having their X, and yet others who've ordered after us have been receiving their phones left and right (not hateful, just jealous).

VZW, what's up with you? Why this mess? And don't tell us you were not expecting such a customer response. Why didn't you just allow us to pre-order so you could gauge how many X phones you needed to order to satisfy all your customers, old and new?

I'm currently with a phone that craps out when it feels like it. I'm out of contract. Don't force me to go elsewhere because I need a working phone right now and you can't provide me with the one I want.

haha...i did the samething last friday...Fedex guy came at 3:30 instead of the "by 3pm" i was expecting...enjoy your new phone!

I've been in almost the exact same situation for the last month with my DInc. After second faulty replacement, they agreed to replace it with a DX. This happened at 12pm on 7/15. Was told I would get it Fri or Mon at the latest. Now, I'm told that never should have been said...7/23 ship date. They did change it to overnight shipping so if I could just get it to ship one day earlier...I'd still have it this week. Oh well, it helps that DH already has his. I can figure out how I want to set mine up after setting his up for him. :)

Grrr, mine was processed at noon or 7/15 and still 7/23. Still hoping for an earlier shipment... (but happy for you...honestly :D )
 
Can someone tell me what the weight of their DX package is/was from FedEx? I've got a 2 pounder on the way from Memphis, but I'm sure it is just the other phone I ordered. (LG Cosmos).

Hmm, it seems that earlier in this thread people were saying theirs was listed as 2.0 lbs/.9 kg too.

I wonder what the chances are that verizon packs the Cosmos, a phone that should weigh nowhere near as much as the X, into a box that also weighs exactly 2 lbs. Doesn't seem very likely.
 
Ordered mine at 8pm on the 15th and just called and was told it shipped this morning. Should be here on the 21st. Was absolutely promised it would be here today after the 5 hour hassle I had on release day(their fault), so it's still late but whatever. The guy did mention that according to their memo southern states have a better chance getting it early because the warehouse had more stock? Don't know how true that is since four of the five people I talked to were completely useless.

I'm finally going to have my phone!

My X is en route and fedex.com lists it as 1 lb/0.5 kg. Just the phone, no accessories for what its worth.
 
Yeah, mine is with no accessories too.

Other that what comes with it apparently:
