Root oh my another root thread!

Okay do the safety remove hardware. Remove the phone from the cpu make sure there is no PG05IMG zip on your SD root and turn off the phone turn it back on while holding volume down

This gets you to hboot

After that you will clear data/factory reset, then Wipe cache, then go to advanced and wipe dalvik cache, go back once done and choose install zip from SD the select choose zip navigate to it and flash it. Finally choose reboot

Don't freak out if on the reboot you have no signal, you still need to flash the radio

To flash the radio rename it PG05IMG.zip and move it to the root of your SD power off and back on in hboot it will scan and prompt you to update. Press volume up once done it will say press power to reboot, do so and and you are done just remember to deletethe zip from the root of the sd

what if i already have it on my sd card? i moved both the ota and radio to my sd card at the same time...

do i go back to disk mode and debugging and just rename it??

Okay you will be done once you reboot after the radio flash. Wasn't as hard as it seemed is it

no it wasnt. but after all it was just the stock rooted ota....
thank you so much! i really appreciate it.
now ii just need to download all my apps again and get titanium and root explorer

Yeah that is correct. You flash all roms the same way, you don't flash a radio each time. I'm out of here for tonight, congratulations again

No problem, glad I could help you get rooted. If/when you decide to flash a new rom if you have any questions feel free to ask, it isn't really any different than flashing the rooted OTA you did last night so you know what to do. You will not need to flash a radio unless you wish to change it, flashing a rom does not change the radio. Enjoy your phone!

thanks yeahha!
i have a question, ive been reading the cm7rc1.4 thread in here and seeing like alot of people like running that rom.
i downloaded it from here [ROM] CM7 for Thunderbolt. RC1.4 Updated 7-29 11:20PM EST earlier today

and i know i need to get gapps, i saw your thread about the updated market in gapps. what one should i d/l 3.0.26 or 3.0.27??

and what radio should i get?

I like 3.0.27, it seems to work quicker with starting downloads after you tell it to. Also you are on the OTA MR2 radio you should not need to flash a radio with CM7 you should be able to flash the rom and go just be sure to do a nandroid backup on your current rom first and wipe data, cache, and dalvik cache before you flash CM7 then you can flash the gapps zip right after that or you can reboot and then go back to recovery to flash the gapps.zip
