Root Ok so where do I go from here?

If I should go anywhere, that is...

I am currently running 2.3.3 version 4.5.573.MB810.Verizon.en.US on a deodexed pre-released version. running the BWC theme (which is really good). No actual ROM running, just that theme on top of normal GB.

My question is: What has happened since my last update. I have been out of the rooting community loop for a while. I hear that there has been a 2.3.3 OTA from verizon...but I don't believe what I am hearing, is that true?

Should I SBF and grab that and root it? OR should I get the file somewhere online and do it that way? Should I upgrade at all, things are running OK, but not perfect.

I would like to get the latest .596 so I can use some newer ROMs that require it, so that would be nice.

Answer back, and thanks in advance.

Well, yes. The gingerbread is out and OTA. The main difference between your 573 and 596 is smoothness/speed/stability. As I recall, all you have to do is flash the two part upgrade to 596. It's located right here.

It's pre-rooted. Follow the directions. Enjoy! (It should go right over top of your present build.

Ok, so before I do anything I want to be clear. Do I need to use
Method Three
The third method is for anyone currently running a Gingerbread leak (588/591/595). You can just install the appropriate zip right over the top of your previous build.

And download:
Deodexed - Must be on a Gingerbread Leak

Is that what I want?

OR am I doing it wrong? Only reason why I am concerned is b/c the above 1st quote says I need to be on .588/.591/.595, but I am on .573.......is that still gonna work?

Probably not. Forgot about that. You probably should sbf back to 340, three flash over that.

Thanks, I'll SBF and flash the file when I have more time, since that is a bit of a long project. Glad to see the Deodex and Root all in one file this time around though. The last time I did this I needed to SBF and root, then apply a deodex and then a theme....lots of steps. Hope I don't get confused this time round. I'll post back if I have any issues, you guys are great as usual.

I am thinking that I might try to go ahead with the GB leak option described above. If that doesn't work, I can always SBF back to 2.2.340 and do the other method. I'd rather have less steps than more. If this works from my current 2.3.3 (.573 leak) then I will post my successful or failed results so others know.

Yeah, that isn't gonna work since my radio is .07p and not .12p...making it IMPOSSIBLE for the update to take, I'll be forced to SBF then. Oh well, sometimes you just can't win em all.
