Help on going apps and active apps

So I downloaded lookout for my phone and its a pretty cool app. I've had it for about a week now and its been running as an ongoing application. But up until recently it wasn't popping up as an active application in my task manager, but as of today it is.

Is there a way to go back to how it was? I really liked to be able to close out of all other apps and have that one still running (not popping up as active). I didnt see anything in settings... Thanks!

There is not anything that I am aware of that would prevent this as showing

As you can see up in the left hand corner, lookout is running but is not showing up as an active application. I just don't know why this only happens on occasion...
