Root [On Hold] JellyBean CM10.1

Could you try again with my update-binary (which supports 5 agruments) and the untouched updater-script. I'm not expecting it to work but who knows, it just might.

I rebuilt with the proper config to make the right binary. The link is in the new thread. There were some other minor changes too, but it's most likely going to give a black screen again. This is what testing is all about!

It's probably going to not work. We built the kernel and flashed it to my phone. It flashed successfully and boots the stock rom just fine, but when flashed with the CM10 rom it still boots to a black screen.

I doubt the reverb will get official jellybean now that virgin mobile is launching the Samsung victory(4glte) with official jellybean

We may still get 4.1

It's still possible to get CM9 on here and even CM10+. Just a lot harder for CM10+.

It doesn't need it, my last phone, the LG Optimus V didn't have Gingerbread, but the CM rom for it did, it just take more modifications. Also, I'm pretty certain to port it takes some modifications to the source, which it doesn't sound like you guys were doing.

They were modding the source. They are modding and building the source.

That's what I was saying..

Any news on this one? My whole issue with this device is that it was advertised as being a 4GB device. It was to my surprise when I started using the phone that only 2GB were usable and the rest was blocked off for ROM use. Honestly the manufacturer and VM should have presented this as a 2GB device is only 2GB is usable. By that I mean 2GB usable in stock ROM, out-of-package condition. I'll keep my horns crossed for this one.

I used my computer and a partition app to set my sdcard up with the ex4 partition. There are a few different programs out there, I'm away from my computer and don't remember which one I used.

I ended up using GParted in Linux. The people who put together tutorials out here on the web take for granted that everybody uses Windoze. Heck, some people even think that "PC" means a Windows system.

Now if only there was a way to allocate a little bit less to the system ROM.....

I actually use Ubuntu for most things too. I guess most folks here do use windows. Sometimes I forget to mention Linux, but you're right. Hell, Android is based on Linux, well the kernel anyway.

Love my Ubuntu. They couldn't pay me enough to go back to Windows. I have heard that the touch Ubuntu for mobile devices is kind of troublesome though. Every now and then I notice Gnome icons for Android apps.

With the dev. of the latest MiRaGe kernel, maybe it's time to resurrect this thread, and see what transpires...
