One Click Lag Fix actually works

You need and external SD card. You can get a 16gb one from Sandisk on Amazon for $28, plenty of room on that to do anything.

I think it uses the internal memory....I added a 4gig external I had laying around and still says the samething.....anyone know wut I'm doing wrong

Un-rooted....ran the lag fix....and my score is now 2286. :D

I will say this.....my job is heavily reliant on emails, personal as well as through exchange. Sometimes I was so frustrated because the email app would take FOREVER to load/send/receive and if it did work, it sometimes would crash! Now, all is gone. It's super fast, and makes life/work so much freaking easier. A huge sigh of relief....

PS - apps such as Engadget, Facebook, Twitter, Pandora, Slacker, and many other various kinds open and run so much quicker. This makes the user experience so much better!

I just ran the lag fix on mine, quadrant score is 2100 now and now it runs at "ludicrous speed" - its like a completely different phone. I did worry a bit after it installed the lag fix - phone rebooted and made the reboot sound, but screen was black. Buttons along bottom of phone were lit and it would randomly vibrate but screen never showed any signs of life. Took battery out, rebooted and it came up with no problems.

Is your internal memory showing that or your external? I wouldn't go deleting things on your internal without knowing what you are deleting, if you are going to manually delete, back up with Titanium first. You can mount your device via USB to your computer and view what is on the sd. You can delete it from there as well.

This fix is amazing! The lag was driving me nuts! Now everything works like a breeze. Took 5X to start the phone back up, I had to yank the battery and press start and it got stuck the first 4 tries, I gave it one more try before flashing back to stock with Odin and on the fifth try it started and is working like a champ!

Download from the market
Make sure busybox is installed

The app allows one click root and unroot

make sure phone is rooted

Check free space make sure there is a gig of free space on data

Press OneClickLagFix V1+

Ok,

I rooted my phone using this method (the old not the one click) then I removed most of the ATT nonsense (att music, att nav... and other att pay apps).

I have about 7 gig of internal data stored on my phone, I do not have an external sim in it.

I used the one click method to install the lag fix.

I downloaded the app and it was fairly self explanatory once it downloaded I clicked on it in my status bar, cause I couldn't find and icon or anything else to load it.

It opened up and loaded and there were several options to do, one was unroot, root and a bunch of others I cant remember.

I figured I already had it rooted so I just installed the ext2 option then after that installed I clicked on the OneClickLagFix V1+ and bam it did some stuff in the backround and shut off rebooted and shut off again.

I tried to hit the power button and nothing happened till I removed the battery and then it was fine. Took about twice as long as normal to boot but now everything is fine and faster then ever.

I actually was in the process of getting a different phone or going back to an iphone since this was my first android and was disappointed. But my props to everyone who was involved to make this Lag fix cause it is bada$$.

I dont know if I did this right by not using a external sd card or not but it worked flawless. (If someone can confirm I would appreciate it, I also just used the standard partition it was like 13XX mb I think??)

Thanks again everybody and sorry for a long first post I just wanted to share my experience

D

when i click on check free space....it says....you have 213MB out of 1917MB......i know when i first did this it showed i had over a 1000mb....dont remember the exact number....then i added that ext2 file and did the lag fix was green...so i did that and it didnt work....so i tried it again and its been saying i have 250+/- MB........i dont know whats going on......have any ideas anyone????

My internet is slow as ever now after performing this install. I have 4 bars and still get a "web page not available." Any help would be greatly appreciated.

As some of us in this thread, I encountered the problem with my thrid party font not displaying after running the one click lag fix, and no matter what I did it always showed the stock font. the phone was benchmarking in the 2100's, but i can't stand that font. I undid everything that lag fix did, restored my phone to a recent backup, and began searching for more options. i happened across the linked post over at xda, and bingo, it works, lag is fixed, and my fonts are there! if anyone is having still having a similar issue, undo the lag fix, uninstall, and run what on the linked thread, be sure you have your drivers installed and your device in Samsung Kies mode and debugging on.

Good Luck!

Thank You soooooooo much. I usually frequent the Vibrant forums but came over to the Captivate forums b/c my brother just got one and I was trying to show him somethings. Then I stumbled upon your thread and oh my god!!!!

I thought my phone was fast before.... My bench score went from 988 to 2280. I tried a couple of apps that would take a while to load like iheart radio, it barely buffered before the stations came up. This is the best thing possible.

Are their any other things with this app that you guys would recommend doing? Also, with it being rooted through this app, can I finally over clock the humming bullet?

So when I ran the OCLF yesterday, I did a benchmark first thing: 2301.

Using the phone for a day, everything seems much faster, especially Astro and opening ebooks and audio files. Still, I noticed that I still see lag at times, so I ran another benchmark: 1645!

I shut down to kill off any apps, rebooted, and my benchmarks are lingering right around 1900-2000, still good, but curious. Has anyone else seen this kind of degradation over time?

Not a pro by any means, but I would suggest undoing it and trying again. Perhaps something did not get copied over correctly?

I did notice that my internet connection seems very slow to load when I have like four bars under "Edge" service but the phone flies when I have only one bar of 3G. I have un-installed and re-installee as mentioned before but that hasn't helped. Any other suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Thought I might get a more detailed look at benchmark results, so I got Quadrant Advanced. This is what I found out.

Full benchmark:

Benchmark with no I/O:

So yeah. This is basically an I/O improvement, which would explain my usage results. Opening and browsing files is awesome. Media scanner goes faster. But as far as multitasking and the periodic lag I was seeing before, not much has really changed. I think my original excitement just made it feel faster.

Oh well, Froyo is around the corner, and we're still smoking every other device in GPU. :)

This is now the phone I thought I was buying.
Some apps used to run very slowly. Mediafly was the worst, which was a shame, I love that app.
Performance has significantly improved across all apps.
I love my phone again.

I am not seeing much difference since running this lag fix. My quandrant scores are obviously much higher, but I am not noticing any speed increase on my phone. In fact, I am seeing more lag in some areas than I had before.

Anyone else having the same experience?

I'm in the same boat, my quadrant scores are like yours, much higher. I know in prior posts people mentioned that their media scans where significantly faster but mine does not seem to have improved.

mine is 2236, before it was 839. rooted and applied quick lag fix. europe version JF3. sorry no camera to get picture of result.

alright i finally got this lag fix to work and loving it!!.....just 1 thing.....i cant mount my phone to my laptop anymore.....anyone else having this problem....or has had this problem without the lagfix....please let me know...

Not having this problem, have you tried pulling the battery?

Newb here with a couple questions
1) Once lag fix is installed and completed is your phone then rooted?
2) If there is a problem how do you reverse?

Thanks
