One Click Lag Fix actually works

1. You will have to root the phone before applying the lag fix. There is a root option included in the app.
2. Yes. I have reversed the lag fix and the EXT2 tools and it worked just fine.

yea i tried it....and still no luck....i not sure if the lag fix is even what did it...cause i havnt plugged my phone into my laptop in about 5 days...and i did the fix this morning.....so is there a way to like start fresh and maybe get it back by flashing the phone again or wutever...i heard of peeps doing this....but have no idea how....just know u use a program called odin
 
I just ran my vibrant with the root and lag fix against my brothers brand new captivate thats essentially naked compared to my phone. Needless to say that it blew the doors off of it in every test with it connected to the same wifi.

It loaded YouTube videos, several full page websites, ran apps faster and transitioned out faster too.

Quick question though, when I opened the quick fix app again to see if it had any other options it says that everything I did is disabled and that the unroot is enabled. Is this normal and what else would you guys recommended to make this thing even faster

Download from the market
Make sure busybox is installed

The app allows one click root and unroot

make sure phone is rooted

Check free space make sure there is a gig of free space on data

Press OneClickLagFix V1+

if it fails, close the app and try again

If it succeeds your phone will turn off.

Reboot the phone, sometimes the screen will be blank and sometimes won't show the button lights. This is normal. Hold down the lock button until a boot happens or remove the battery and put it back in and boot.

Boot should load. Ta-da your phone now has an EXT2 File System to increase read and write and other stuff. Go ahead, benchmark it with quadrant.

As I mentioned yesterday, I was having the same experience as you with the lag fix not seeming to help much. Just for shits and giggles last night I saw there was a updated version of the app on the market, I downloaded it then undid the lag fix as well as the tools, then reapplied. Now it seems like it's truely working, you might want to give it another go.
 
Installed Lag fix last night. Phone does seem a little quicker. Would recommend it to everyone, just install, root, install ext2 tools, then lag fix v1. Or if you are rooted skip that part lol. Pretty straight forward, and simple just take ur time and do it and be patient with the phone.

I was hesitant to try this... But am very happy I did. Didn't have any issues the first time and it's working great so far. Thank you very much for this fix.
 
Question. Why can't I get it to reboot into the black screen to finish the rooting? I held the two volume buttons and booted it. It just goes to the at&t screen and boots to normal operation.

Thanks for the tip. I actually have not been able to unroot, but I did undo the lag fix and the tools. My phone does seem faster now after reinstalling the updated lag fix.

Now I am just annoyed that I can get the phone to unroot. Every time I try, the phone reboots. I hold down the volume buttons, and it goes to the black screen. But it doesn't unroot. Anyone have any suggestions?
 
When everyone did the Lag Fix, did you all use the preset/default partition size? If not exactly how did you determine how much remove to allow? I did it and was not sure how much should be allocated to the partition and even on XDA could not find a clear cut answer.
 
Scratch what i said above. My phone is so much more responsive now. Even quicker when i use launcherpro. This makes me really look forward to how quick froyo will be when its released.
 
I did end up taking a hit to the battery. I seriously cannot understand why because it should have nothing to do with the battery. Mine barely lasts a full work day with minimal use. I'm running ATK in Safe mode with crucial apps in the Ignore list. The lag fix worked beautifully though!!

Make sure to hold them down while the att boot screen shows release when you see it for a sec or two
 
I wasn't having any problems with my captivate, but I tried this lag fix earlier yesterday, and it seemed to really make things snappy, and my quadrant scores almost tripled. Today, however, I'm having some serious lag issues. The screen freezes for several seconds and completely stops what it was doing. It never did this before.
Pulling up pictures, for instance, is very slow.
But this is probably 36 hours after I did the lag fix, so I'm not sure if it's related.

I came from an iphone 3gs to this captivate, anyone who has had an iphone knows about the lag you get used to. When i bought the cappy it was like a breath of fresh air. I read about the lag fix, and thought "why not"? I went from a quadrant score of 830 to 2227. The only lag i had before was scrolling on internet pages, which is now virtually gone. I am so pleased with this phone and all the hacks that are easily available for it.
