Root One click root - updating to 2.3?

Hey guys I did the one click root and it has worked perfectly. Li just read a thread that the prevail will be receiving the gingerbread 2.3 update. When I update to 2.3 will I encounter any problems because the phone is rooted?

thanks, Erick

This worked for me:

Odin'd the EJ06 images by Kouma (resets and GB comes with its own additions to bloatware)
Shabby OCR
Update SU
ES File Explorer to delete bloat

I'm not yet interested in Cyanogen or CWM, so I'm not sure how those setups can be maintained, but I know the group are working hard to roll it out.

Hope this helps.

if your running stock, but rooted it will probably work, though the update may abort because of system mismatch.

If you want to get the update directly from boost and not use the method discribed above you may need to use odin and go back to stock EE14.

There is a few problems which as of now no one has reported on.
the over the air update does a system check and if the system does not match what it thinks it should it will/can abort and so you may have the update but no way to install it.
Or it may work fine as long as its a basic stock (even though rooted) phone.
without people trying it we dont know.

I do know I tried to use the update that was posted and on my custom rom it did not work, aborted with system mismatch message.

Its a lot easier if you Odin to EE14 then OTA update to GB and when the first samsung logo comes up open shabbys one click root and all will go well.
If you can avoid Odin you should always try, it seems to be slightly unstable, and can cause damage if improperly operated.

Unstable how? I have never had an issue and am curious now.
