All of this Rooting and ShabbyModding has happened at a breakneck pace really as far as I am concerned. What has it been, 2 weeks? I am amazed at the production that has come from Shabby, Interdth, and whoever else helped behind the scenes. I, for one, am excited whenever a new update comes out, but lets get real. I am perfectly happy to continue with ShabbyMod 0.7 and the EE14 modem for a while. Lets let Shabby take his time so that he can continue to put out a quality product as he has consistently done for all of us.

What we can do, is give our ideas for future enhancements we would like to see him incorporate and give constructive educated feedback on our use of the product. I don't want to put Shabby on a timeclock schedule or deadline, even if I could. That becomes too much like a job and eventually ceases being fun.

Shabby and Interdph, Just keep on doing what you do!

What errors are you getting when you try to root? Have you downloaded and installed the samsung drivers from here?
Have you followed the steps in the KMS folder readme file?
Have you tried running the batch file when the phone is booting up(when the Samsung logo displays)?

Need a bit more information in order to assist you.
 
I've had my Prevail for a month now so I'm still a nooB . I just wanted to give credit where credit is due ! I followed the instructions from the zip , had to reboot and click PrevailToExistence when the Samsung logo appeared and BAM !!! I'm ROOTED !!! I just wanted to add that instead of installing the drivers from the link provided , I had already installed Klink and the drivers from that worked perfect for the ROOT . Now it's time to read , read , read and see what options I have unlocked . If you have any suggestions for a nooB , it would be greatly appreciated ! {:-)>

As a precaution , I went ahead and followed the instructions to a T . Installed drivers . Working flawlessly !!
 
Ok so EE14 is rootable now then correct? Asking before I get the phone in case it updates it before I can even use the phone. So if it updates to EE14 I will already have the new modem update then as well which means i wont have to update it with interdpth's version correct?

Picked up the prevail today. Went ahead adn tried rooting it. I don't know if it worked or not as I forgot how to check lol.

You can check if your phone is rooted by going to your apps tray(the icon that looks like a bunch of little tiles) and you should see an app called "Superuser"if you don't see it then you're not rooted.

You may also download an app called "Root Checker" and run it to verify you have a properly rooted phone and busybox installed. Find it in the Android Market.
 
Worked on the first try! Then down-loaded Root Checker CHECK! Barnacle WI-FI tether CHECK all worked! Barnacle seems to time out until I touch the screen again. Second question how do I keep the phone rom from updating? THANKS!!!!
 
Ok I got the system rooted and installed Shabbys mod. Rick I updated first them rooted the phone then installed Shabbys mod and it all works fine for me

If you installed ShabbyMod you don't have to worry about getting updates from Boost ;)
